      Question Lucid dreaming help..confused/unclear

Hey um thanks for your time. I just had a few different questions to ask.

      1. When they say " you should be able to recall a few dreams at night" do they mean with the proper timing of an alarm clock or by if your able to wake up right after a dream ( for some reason i cant seem to "auto suggest" my self to do that")

      2. About how many dreams should be recorded in your dream journal before you really try to be moving on to the other steps.

3.Dreams occur only in the REM state? So then we have to lie down still for 80 mins for the REM state to occur? (wild technique)

      4. For a beginner ( no lucid dreams at all) where should i start and with what techniques?

      5. <--- why do we have this banana?

.if you can help me out with my questions that would be appreciated..

**as well i cant really remember my dreams without a alarm clock and when i do it happens not very often. ( the last dream i remembered was about 6 days ago and before that it was about a month ago)**

      *0 Lucid dreams.*

*1,000,000 lucid day dreams..* (does that even count??)

Yep. Unless you're sleep deprived you probably will not dream immediately once you fall asleep. Most people like to wait 5 hours or so using the WBTB method. Although some of us do WBTB in the morning after we wake naturally.

Whatever you decide to do WBTB is your friend. You should also try Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream (DEILD) and take naps to increase your chances. Here's an overview of the different induction techniques.

Keeping a dream journal will greatly improve your recall. I'm actually the opposite and remember dreams better without an alarm clock, so don't think that the alarm clock is the only way.

1/ Whichever method is best for you. I Started with the alarm clock, then learned to auto-suggest. But you may choose to only remember your last morning dream when you wake up normally. Morning dreams take almost all the 90minutes cycle, so you should be in the middle of a dream whatever is you usual wake-up clock. You just need to stay reasonably still and REALLY try to remember it. I was like you before (0 dream recall) but now I recall many.

3/ Yes and no. If you WILD directly in the evening, the dream will indeed start after 80 minutes. At the end of the night, you would have to wait much less. I can WILD in only 1 or 2 minutes on the morning, when it's essentially "only REM".
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)

All i can think to add is that afternoon naps are a great time to WILD if you dont want to weight 80 minutes to enter REM sleep. Also, we have that banana becuase it makes socially insecure people feel happy. The banana helps them feel like every on this forum is happy and friendly and likes to dance. And 1,000,000 lucid daydreams is only beneficial if you are studying for exams otherwise wake up and so something with your time.
