Keep sticking with it and EXPECT to have a lucid dream. Try reading the links that I have linked to the WBTB tutorial (thanks to Me and Kaniaz)

It took me over a month to get my first LD.

Trust me you are getting close.

Try this man, do a reality check every time you wake up in the morning. You will eventually get in to the habit and it will get easier.

Also set your alarm on your watch to ching every hour and do a reality check every hour.

      Works for me.

Sometimes I spontaneously remember do a RC when I have a false awakening.

Just a note.. don't be so harsh on yourself.. you are not a dumbass if you dont realize you are dreaming during a dream (something that you later realize should have been apparent). The part of your brain that involves reasoning is shut down, and to become lucid, it is a matter of somehow re-activating this part while you are dreaming. (Kind of hard since you need it to realize your dreaming in the first place) It has nothing to do with intelligence, and is a new skill that everyone on this forum is working on.

The important thing is to keep on pulling! Hang in there!!

yeah hang in there... you will become lucid in a dream randomly - proably when you feel most aware and less troubled in waking life... when i had my first lucid dream, i remembered it half way through the morning, and it came flooding back to me! but they get clearer as you become more aware, dont give up. and the main thing in the meantime is to work on recording your dreams.
