      first ld. well, kinda.

      a little background:
      About 5 years ago, i experienced my first lucid dream and was so excited what had happened that night, that i decided to read up on the subject. The only problem was that i wasn't sure about what I had done, and mistakingly got lucid dreaming confused with what i believed to be an OBE, due to the fact that I had never heard of lucid dreaming. A few months ago, I had a dream that reminded me about my first lucid dream I had so long ago, and I decided that i would try to find something about it this time; and I found dream views. I've been looking around the boards for about a month now, taking in all this information, and practicing every night, trying to have another ld.

      fast forward to this afternoon:
      I was able to sleep in today, so i wake up around noon, disappointed that i had still had not had a lucid dream. I get up, do what needs to be done around the house and go back up to my room and lay down (I wasn't feeling too well). I thought to myself that this would be a good time to try a WBTB (I think thats what it would be called). I doze off and wake up a few times due to the poor sleeping conditions, since it is mid day. So i doze off, and wake up yet again, or so i thought. I was laying in my bed watching pre-season football, when all of a sudden it cuts to porn. Now I like porn as much as the next guy does, but this makes me kind of mad because Im a huge football fan, and just wanted to watch some ball. I then look next to me an there is a garden snake in my bed with me. I'm not afraid of the snake, it seems to be a pet to me. I look at the foot of my bed and it didn't look how it did when I was laying there before i dozed off earlier, so i think that's kind of weird. I look back at the snake, and it has became hostile, and look like its about to lunge at me. I start getting a little nervous and think, say "wait, i dont have a snake, I'm dreaming." I then slooooowly roll out of my bed, but as i do, my dream fades... I wake up excited, but at the same time a little disappointed that I didn't stay lucid very long, but i blame this on my sleeping conditions. Also, maybe it was the fact that I forgot to try to stabilize my dream?

      sorry for the long post. I'm pretty sure this was a DILD?

      :bravo: That was a DILD alright. As for the quick loss of lucidity, I hear that's really common. From experience, the stabilizing helps a lot, but sometimes you just get excited, I guess.
      If a person with multiple personality syndrome threatens to kill themselves, is it considered a hostage situation?

      Lucid Dream Count
      DILD's= 5 or so
      MILD's= 1

      yeah, that's what I figured, it just slipped my mind to stabilize the dream. As far as getting exciting goes, i wasn't really excited in my dream, it was more of me being excited when i woke up. I didn't have much control either, maybe thats why i rolled out of the bed so slowly.

      hmmm... keep at it. thats all i can tell you. you're lucky that you dreamt you were in your room, otherwise you probly wouldn't have caught on. FYI, DO NOT dream spin, it sucks and will if anyting de-stabilize the dream. it's only good for changing the enviroment. just rub your hands, lick the roof of your mouth, touch anything nearby. thats what works for me.

      I told myself when I had my first ld, i wouldn't forget to rub my hands together. Oh well, theres always next time. I thought i was pretty lucky that i woke up in my room also, because i didn't do any RCs but still realised i was dreaming.
