      Sleep Paraylsis and WILD Questions

So I've had a lot of questions about SP and WILDing, but no matter how hard I look around the forums, I can't seem to find a straight answer. A lot of the answers are contradictory or just plain confusing. Now, I know WILDing experiences vary from person to person, but I'd just like get some more intel on this stuff. Sorry if I ask questions that have been approached several times already.

      1. Is SP essential to entering a lucid through WILD? Is it a sign that you are on the right track and about to reach the lucid state?

      2. Is it necessary to have hallucinations in SP state? In other words, is it possible to go right by and not notice anything but just vibrations?

      3.
What do people mean when they say that during SP, there are first and last vibrations, etc.? Does each "wave" end, and another one start?

      4. When should we open our eyes/ get up after SP? Do you even need to physically open your eyes?

      5. How would you "fail" a WILD? Would going through SP, and then return to normal state be considered failing? Is failing usually just chance related or does it have to do with your concentration?

      6. Lastly, can you still see SP hallucinations with your eyes closed? Or do people see it when them when they try to break out of SP and open their eyes? Even if you open your eyes, can you still see them in the dark?

Sorry for the overload of questions.

      1. You don't have to be aware of entering SP. Sometimes you are so distracted by your visualization you don't feel any transition. Yes, it is a sign that you are on the right track. I normally feel myself enter SP when I am meditating on my body, such as counting breaths or relaxing muscles. When I am doing a visualization or imagining myself in a dream scenario, I don't feel any transition.
      2. No, hallucinations don't always accompany SP, and like I already mentioned, sometimes you don't even notice the SP. My hallucinations are different every time. Sometimes voices, sometimes shadowy figures, sometimes elaborate scenarios.
      3. It is common to get several waves of vibrations. Some people swear they get two waves every time. It seems to be different every time for me.
      4. When I WILD, I don't stay in my body in bed. I find it too difficult to exit my body directly. For example, If I feel the vibrations (maybe 2 or three waves) I will simply picture myself standing in another room, touching something, and that visualization will solidify into a dream. Suddenly my memory or visualization becomes 'real' around me.
      5. You can fail by either waking up fully, or falling alseep and blacking out. Sometimes, I will do everything right, feel vibrations, have hallucinations, and then just find myself in bed totally awake, unable to fall back asleep. Strange.
      6. I'm pretty sure that by the time you are in SP, you are no longer really seeing the real world. You are seeing a dream reconstruction of the room around you. When I do a WILD, my eyes are closed from the start. When I enter SP, it feels like I re-open my eyes to see the hallucinations. I will feel a presence in the room, or sense something, then open my eyes to see what is there. I don't think I actually open my eyes. I think I just dream that I open them.

I hope this makes sense. Like you said, it varies so much, it is hard to say exactly. Plus, I am so spacey by the time I get into the WILD, it is hard to be sure what is really happening. It is a weird feeling you just need to experience.

Have you had any luck with WILD attempts?
