how close was i to wilding?

Last night i tried doing a WILD for the first time because all the ld's i have had have come from just DILDs and i dont get those very often. So after about 5 or 6 hours i woke up and got something to drink and just relaxed for a few minutes, then went back to bed. First, i relaxed all my musles starting from my toes and ending at my head, then started focusing on my breathing. After doing this for quite a long time, my body felt like it sunk into the bed and started feeling really weird, kind of like energy tingling through it. Also, everything started sounding way different (i have a fan going on while i sleep) and my eyelids started twitching really bad. Throughout this whole time, i had to swallow really really bad, and finally i gave in and swallowed which woke me up kind of with a jolt. Was i close to going into a dream?

Hmm well maybe to avoid that issue in the future, you could consider spitting all over your pillow

You were pretty close, if you would have hung in just a little more you might have been able to enter an LD.

If you keep practicing everyday, you will get closer and closer.

Someone said to rest your head up to avoid saliva from going in to the back of your throat. You could try it but when i do my neck feels like cardboard in the morning.

You were very close. The sensations you felt was your body becoming paralyzed (Sleep Paralysis), the weird sounds you heard were auditory hallucinations and you felt your eyelids twiching b/c you went back to sleep during the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep.

I also experience having an overwhelming urge to swallow, but Ive found that breathing out of your nose helps out a lot. So make sure you relax and take deep breaths when entering SP b/c that means you are moments away from having a Lucid Dream!

Exclamation I have a similar question

I had not WBTB to try this WILD, i was just tired so i decided to try it. Please someone tell me if i was close. XD Okay,
So i was lying down very still and some time later my heart rate went very high and i found it hard to breath. A little while after that i think i might have started to hear a whisper-ish sound and i freaked out and moved, and i felt normal again.

Yeah, that's all good. SP will do that to you. IT used to startle me too but you have to remember to just keep breathing on through it. It may feel like you couldnt breath, but everybody goes through SP every night, so its all in your head.

Next time this happens, remember to remain calm and take slow, deep breaths; if you do this, I promise you will get a full-blown WILD.

So similar question, I tried WILDing on the airplane back to the US, since I thought it'd be less scary with all the people around you. It was a really comfortable airplane anyway. So I counted...and counted...and then all of a sudden there's all these blobby lights moving around in front of my eyelids. And then my eyelids started to twitch like crazy, and I get the sensation that I'm spinning around in circles. I couldn't tell if there were any auditory hallucinations with so much ambiance noise in the background...heart beat was fast too. Then it stops, and after a while same thing happens again, and then it stops. And then I decide its not working and get up all shivery.

Should you just continue and see what happens after SP? Also, when my eyelids twitch they tend to start to open, so I see like a slit on the bottom, and when I try to close them, they twitch even more. It's very annoying.

I never really notice my eyes twitching, but I can only guess that that means you guys are really close to WILDing. SP can bring about a lot of weird shit and even shift (alter) your consciousness a bit. Try your best to ignore your eyes when they start twitching like that. Just keep breathing and try to keep your eyes shut; if they open, no matter, just remain still and pretend like it didnt happen.
So make sure you guys dont give up on it next time b/c it seems like you were pretty close. And thats pretty impressive that you did it on an airplane Pelephant; there's no way in hell that Id be able to do that.

It's a long story, but my dad and I were upgraded for free to business/first class because they ran out of room in the normal compartment. We were totally lucky! XD I was thinking to myself, these seats are so nice, I should try WILDing.

I've been successfully lucid dreaming for a while now but I've noticed I experience them in varying degrees of vividness. At my best everything seemed so much more real and vibrant than in real life, as if all my senses were amped up and everything was possible. But a problem I sometimes have is being in this state where I can only see one thing in the dream world, very close up. I'm afraid to look away from it for fear of waking up and sometimes if I move my head away from it I DO wake up - it's as if I'm not completely asleep. When this happens what should I do?? Also for some reason I knew I was dreaming last night, said "I'm lucid dreaming" several times, then immediately forgot, or couldn't do anything about it...
