How can I check if I'm in SP?

Is there any way to check if Im in SP? or how do I know when Im in SP?
Everytime I try to WILD I feel the vibrations and after that feel a heavy blanket over me. I've read some reviews and they say that once you feel the heavy blanket your mind is free from your body and you can try to get out of your physical body, the thing is, that when I try to move, I move my physical body instead of my dream body so Im probably trying to move too early, when Im not completely in SP...is there any way to check if Im in SP?

everybody is different. u might have different sp experiences different nights. just watch out for the hypnagogic imagery, pulses and twitches, loss of feeling. after that its all downhill. and there not a really a way to check, you'll just know, trust me. it happened to me that way. i kept wondering when it would come, an when it came, i had no doubt it was sp. btw, the most important thing for a succesful wild is that ur in a comfortable position and don't let your train of thought stray off to much, try and focus on your breathing or sumthin like that.

Like reap said, there's no full-proof way to check - not by moving your body anyway because it's so easy to move your actual body instead. I'd say, if you think you're in SP, start envisioning what you want to dream about. Use dream incubation - call up the scenery. How it looks, how it smells, how it feels especially. Tactile sensations can be a really easy way to transition into a dream. Then just let the dream start forming around you. When you start feeling the wind in your hair and the grass below your feet (for example), then trying moving around and do a bunch of reality checks.

I wouldnt try checking since this can ruin your concentration
Neither Will alone, nor Strength alone.

Im with Ladoys on this; you dont really have to check b/c when you're there, there will be no doubts as to whether or not you're in SP. And besides, you might wake yourself up by trying accidentally, thats why I dont try to "pull" my dream body out, like a lot of people do, I just wait until I know for a fact that Im dreaming and SP is complete.

Concentrate on a point just above your head. If you're in SP you will experience an unmistakably shift. If you are close to SP you can fall right into it if you throw that focal point upward and away like a rocket.

In WILDs I never actually feel SP. I feel the onset, but never when I actually shift. However in DEILD, I feel a very distinct shift in feeling and consciousness. It's hard to explain. It kind of feels like my entire body entered an electric field (rub a ballon on your hair and then bring it near your body, that feeling) and then suddenly went back to normal.

As for checking, the only way to check would be to try and move. If you can't move then you're in SP. If you can move then either you didn't get there, or are in a dream.

I would say: Dont use your own body as test tool. Just summon another body with tactile imagination and teleport into that body. It is much safer and you can be sure you wont move your real body.

If you think you dont have mental capacity to create new body, you are probably not in REM.

Or not experienced enough An experienced WILDer could do that, but I'm not even sure that I would be able to do that since I don't practice that kind of control.
