Failed WILDs, leading to very vivid LD

Last night I tried WILD for the first time, and got some really strange results. I did WBTB and stayed awake for about an hour, then tried to stay awake as my body fell asleep. I could feel that I was in the mid-way stage between waking and dreaming, and tried to remain conscious. Apparently I fell asleep, because I don't remember any vibrations or imagery, and don't remember any transition into a dream, but suddenly I found myself in the passenger seat of my car in a dark parking lot. I was resting on my seat when I noticed my driver's side door was unlocked, so I got out and went into the driver's seat, locking the door. I then lay back and attempted to WILD, and I suddenly felt an intense surge through my body which woke me up.

I then tried WILDing again, and I must have dozed off again. I found myself driving down a steep road to work. I was getting kind of fast, so I tried to press the brakes, when I realized I was in the passenger seat (although somehow I steered). I eventually came to a stop at the bottom of the road at a traffic light. I decided to do the pinched nose RC, which told me I was dreaming, though I had a hard time believing it. I floated my car up over a couple other cars for a bit, and hovered there. I then lay back and attempted a WILD (I forgot I was dreaming already). Immediately I felt the same surge as before and woke up.

I was feeling a little mentally drained now, so I decided just to fall asleep. The dream that ensued was the longest, most vivid LD I've ever had (and I've had many before). I'll post it under "Lucid Experiences" if anyone wants to read it.

So in summary, I had what I believe are two failed WILD attempts, both leading to similar dreams in which I attempted to WILD and woke up, followed by one very vivid LD. Has anyone had any similar expieriences, or does anyone have any advice?

You'll get it the more you feel comfortable with it, also if you are strong disiplined and focused you can achieve it. That means instead of thinking about curiosity, think about control.

I had my first WILD a while ago, I suggest you read it.
(If not for helping, just for the mere fact of getting some attention on it.)

Thanks Khronos.. I'll keep that in mind, so to speak . I read your experience, and it sounded pretty cool.. I tried Seeker's method of saying "One, I'm dreaming.. two I'm dreaming..." etc. in my mind, which I guess is similar to your chanting.

BTW, that's a great city you live in!

Only try to WILD when you feel %100 that you can do it, don't waste your time otherwise.

      Btw, Vancouver rocks!
