anxiety meds messing up my dreams

Rececntly have been taking a medication for anxiety. Although i still have lucid dreams, they have had a dramatic decrease in frequency. Has any one else had similar issues?

What is it? if your willing to divulge such info. Some things can decrease the REM activity of the brain, while other increase it.

Was bored and looking through unanswered posts... just realized that this was from july... so... yeah...

drug perspective

Depends on what you take.

Most synthetics I find generally harmful to my dreaming states.
Lower range synthetics like codeine aren't too bad whereas, say, oxycodone seems to delete all memory save little snips and flashes. So it all depends on what you take and your diet.

Zoloft nearly drove me insane cause my dreams were always about what I feared during the day, no good.

However, I approve of all psychadelics and psychoactives (never mixed with synthetics unless you [i]know what you are doing.

Weed I think is best. Always, to stay alive and well, healthy and stress free. That is my favorite dream environment.

Klonanzapam or generic Clonopin and it is normally used to treat siezures. Although it is also used for anxiety,in my case, and panic attacks. the drug makes you drowsy and in return i think my dream recall has been affected. As far as other drugs i unfortantly do not have enough brain cells to be wasting any more.

I personally believe that specific medicine is crap, especially being used for anxiety or depression. I have taken it, my ex took it(I made her get off of it), and it fucked me up, and her, too. I don't like anxiety attacks, but I don't like being so jacked or weirded out that shit starts to fuck with my head when I should be "sober"(though none of us ever are). Any ways, go to rx-list.com and look it up if you want to whole view of what that chemical is doing to you. I wouldn't recommend continuing it, but like I said, that's a personal thing. Then again, personally, I won't take any anxiety meds, because they all fuck you up in some way. I'd rather just learn to try and live my life without a prescription to addiction. My ex, however, is supposed to be on celexa. I think that is one of the "nicer" type of those "class" of drugs. You ask me, I'd blame the drug.

I've taken colonopanes for aniexty before, they never messed me up....I'm very tolerant to substances, it takes alot.....But it made me too tired during the day, so I stopped. I would like to start taking something for my anxiety again.....some people who dont live with depression or anxiety or other diseases of the brain dont understand think it's just so easy to do a mind over matter thing....I think depression can be treated with mind over matter just as well as cancer can.....I put my faith in science and the drugs that have been researched and tested, and untill their is another option I will continue to take perscription medicines without feeling like a pill popper.....I've tried the herbal route for my thyroid and almost died, so untill they do more research on more natural methods I wont trust them.

ps blu I really think weed should be reasearched more for anxiety, if anything should be illegal it should be booze....booze is bad...actually I think people should have the right to do what they want with their own bodies as long as it dose'nt hurt other people or their children

Ya, Jill but the problem is it DOES.
Alchohol makes you violent and stuff and if you do drugs and are a girl and have a baby then the baby will have a birth defect... the list goes on...

wasup... I hate to tell you but most of that is propaganda bullshit...

All that crap about doing drugs turns you into a monster? Lol...
most of the time people just end up doing nothing... they become to involved in the drug.. but others, they use it to see in another way, gives you another perspective, makes you think....

There are differnent kinds of drunk...
The violent type... Ick....
The slow dumb type
The reserved, observatory type
The happy funny comedian

Look into the substance more before you pass judgement, most of the stuff the media feeds you is crap... Take care in determining the truth for yourself.

Jeez, Seri, you don't have to jump all over the kid! Maybe he's had bad experiences with drunks... I have, so I can understand that point of view. Wasup, it can definately make you violent, but not always. It really depends on the person. I know people who get explosively violent but I also know people who get insanely silly. I even know one guy who can't get drunk no matter how much he drinks! Or maybe he's just drunk all the time... no one is really sure... but anyway, I hate to take a solid stance on any issue, but I have to agree with Jill here. I think that people should have control over their own bodies, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone. If it does cause harm, then they should take full responsability for their actions--drunk, high or otherwise. I don't care that my friends drink or do drugs. I do care that they're shitfaced and trying to beat me up for their keys to drive home.

So yeah... what was the topic again?

And drunken fighting!!

Maybe he's had bad experiences with drunks[/b]
Actually I haven't ...
Ya and seri I already knew that people can be drunk and not be mean but I was too lazy to write that I'm just saying people do get violent when they drink sometimes...

Besides, I'm pretty sure that I AM a mean drunk
PS: I always noticed that most of those articles and stuff about how you shouldn't do drugs makes you want to do drugs a little...

people who drink and get violent should not drink as much, but people who get drunk and just have fun should get drunk and have fun! basically, everybody should know their own limit, and drink as much as they know they can handle. personally, i am a goofy happy drunk!

what were we talkin bout?

Cause of the propagnada machina I gotta do this

Drugs are good for you!!!

I have done almost every drug I could get my hands on simply to try it, study, research, test its effects, tests synergies and then completely stop.

The only drug I do with consitency, once again, isweed

yes, I am a 'stoner' if you will so casually.

I smoke every day. I meditate every day. I reach the 2nd Jhonna every time no matter what, on accident almost.

I have found that the 'anti-anxieties' are only sort what they claim. Nothing really is, only you, only the way you work, only your own chemistry and your reactions. I persoanlly take what you do and get hcr falling feelings, wierd instability.

I want to add about the anti-booze thing. I personally don't drink really anymore, but beer is soooo good to fall asleep, despite the inhibition of REM, which is the only real drawback I would site. Hops is a natural sleep inducer though, it lets your melatonin flow easier. hrc liquor kills me.

The whole 'drugs cause birth deffects bit' is intensly generalized.
I know some will, some won't, tobacco, anphetamines, methanphetamines and crack are probably the worst.

In a study conducted on pregnant women in Jamaica, women who were habitual ganja smokers were studied. It turned out that the regular control group of nonsmokers had more birth deffects then the ganja smokers. odd, huh?

But we all need to realize the whole FDA conspiracy of ingredients and chemicals. We need to know that ALL food is drugged and ALL things that go into the body do become the body. This nation is sedated and addicted to Bread. The Glutin processes in the body and turns into morphine, but no one knows that and we are all so used to it we just don't know. we give bread to kids. should we?

DRUGS DO NOT TURN US INTO MONSTERS. we are drugged all the time.
Abbuse of ANYTHING is unhealthy and may cause adverse reactions, or at least serve as a convienent scapegoat for devience.

I take full responsibility for all my actions, I only do hcr drugs in safe places with ppl I trust to watch and help sober (unless its lsd, everyone has to, hehehe)

Sorry that I am ranting and off origional subject, it's just so much was said in response that was intriguing.

Jill:

I think that you are wrong in your assumption that most people don't understand depression or anxiety, because almost every single person in these great United States has been, will be, or could be diagnosed with depression or anxiety.

Regardless of whether you wish to believe that or not, I don't care.

I HAVE a diagnosed paranoid anxiety disorder. That is the only way it has ever been classified to me, both by physicians and pshyatrists/psychologists. I have taken the meds, all of them, name it, I've taken it. I spent my teenage years doped up on all kinds of "legal" drugs. It almost ruined me. I got addicted to xanax for a short period of time, until I found out that if you quite xanax cold turkey after taking it for while, your brain might go into seizures(ah side effects, aren't they wonderful?). My great aunt has been on xanax for years and she will never ever be able to stop taking it, or she will go into seizures and die. If that isn't dependency, than what is? That drug DOES control her life, because she has forced her body into needing it. Like I've said, for some people and certain "classifications" of certain mental ilnesses, yes, drugs should probably be used, but not always. And I think to always turn immediately to drugs is the wrong answer. That's what they did with me, because that's what I thought I wanted. I wanted the quick fix. Well it doesn't exist. Truth is, I'll spend my whole life being sort of nervous and edgy, but who cares? Not me, I can deal with it. I don't need the systems dirty drugs.

dirty drugs

synthetics have jagged ridges...they have a does of karma in their consumption that quickly erodes specific parts of the body...ouchy!

I've had depression since puberty, and the synthetics are the only things that work for me....I've tried the st.john's wort and sam-e natural route for a year and I was misserable...I also have thyroid disesese and tryed the natural thyroid medicine and my organs started to shut down and I became suicidal for the first time...I cant say the natural method dose'nt work for some, but I also dont buy into the urban legends that prozac is perscribed to keep people under control and is addictive, when I go off of it I just go back to where I started...
I really do think people dont understand chronic depression...the everyday blues maybe, but I've had more than one person tell me I can solve depression with exercise and positive thinking...it's not so easy.
