      Wild-process question

I tried wild in the evening when I didn't sleep yet and I was pretty convinced to do it this time. So I was counting my breaths and focusing,
after a while my body started to feel a weird sensation and although i felt like I couldn't move my finger I actually could, but after a while my heart started to beat very loud, and that's where I couldn't concentrate anymore, so I did a reality check but it seemed like I wasn't dreaming yet. Was I close?
How long did I had to wait?

Those are the signs of SP setting in. How long is impossible to say. What exactly do you mean when you say that you couldn't concentrate once your heart started beating loudly? I'm thinkinking that you were on the verge but for one reason or another opted out at the last minute. It could be that the reality check snapped you out of it. IMO a reality check isn't really nessesary at a time like this. You will either see the imagery building and you will slip into the dream, or you will head off into an OBE and separate from your physical body. Either way a reality check doesn't really apply.

So I was close? Well my heart was beating very loud, and it was getting harder and harder to breath calm..
But if I keep trying, will I make it this way?
      Thanks for replying btw

I think you were pretty close, yeah. Early on when I would fail it was because the noise and vibrations and pounding heartbeat would freak me out. Now that I've got all of the scary stuff under control my main failure is still getting too excited or too alert. You have to remain calm and go with it. If I find myself thinking "This is it!" "This is it!" then it fades and I'm wide awake.

I didn't hear any sounds yet and I closed my eyes to prevent seeing evil images or whatsoever, but I as soon as I felt that my concentration and calmness transformed in a rush of energy. Can you control it once you get used to it, or is it willpower?

It's kind of like how everyones first few lucid dreams are 2 seconds long and usually consist of "Holy shit I'm doing it!" and then it's over. Come to think of it that sounds like losing your virginty, doesn't it? lol It was the burst of energy that did you in. Relax and go with it. Knowing what to expect is half the battle.

What may have happened (and it happens to a lot of beginning wilders) is that your finger started to tingle, as your body will if you lie still in one position for a long period of time. Then, your brain things "Oh my god! Is this SP? Could I be starting to wild?" all these thoughts start to go through your head and your mind gets excited becaue it things it's starting to wild (hense your heart racing).

I'm not too sure because I've only managed to wild once or twice but from what I've read it is very hard to wild before any sleep (some argue that it's impossible, especially for a beginner). So perhaps it's worth trying it after some sleep to check.

Hope that made sence or helped at all

But I would really like to learn to do it before sleep, as it takes much more control of feelings, what would lead to better understanding of the whole WILD-progress..

No harm trying it before you go to sleep AND after waking up. Twice as many chances, right?

You should try WILD after at least one sleep cycle or your chances are seriously limited. So much for a beginner, that you should not even bother.

Once you have some WILD experience under your belt you can try to recreate the same feelings before sleep, but it's like pissing against the wind.
      There are stubborn people though...
