DCs spoiling Lucidity !

Last night I had a strange dream. Despite several positive RCs, the DCs convinced me of other explanations for them and kept me thereby from getting lucid.
Here is what happened:
In the middle of a pretty long dream I found myself in a hotel room in which I was obviously staying together with my parents a friendly couple of my parents. At some point all the others left the room and I was alone in the room. I looked around and saw that there were no beds in the hotel room and that we had all been sleeping on mattresses. That seemed weird for a hotel so I began questioning the entire situation by asking myself where I actually was, since when and why I was there. I couldn't come up with an answer (First positve RC !) but this time it didn't occur to me that I could be dreaming. Instead I tried more eagerly to find out where I was (name of the hotel or town) by trying to read the notices that are usually on the doors of hotel rooms (emergency exits, price tables). Reading the sign was really difficult and I couldn't make sense of what was written on the sign (second positive RC !). Still I was not lucid but the thought that I might be dreaming slowly came to my mind.
I walked out the room and down to the lobby where I saw my parents standing at sort of bar. I walked up to them and following strange conversation took place:

I:"Hi guys. I know this sounds strange but I can't remember where we are and what we're doing here. Can you help me out ?"

My parents gave each other a worried look and instead of answering to me, my father talked to my mother.

Father:"I know. But the doctors said that these memory lapses would happen again"

I:"What are you talking about and what are we doing here !?"

Mother:"We here for the charity concert of that local band. They try to support people like you."

I:"People like me ?"

Mother (singing a song):"It's not bad if you can't write anymore..."

I:"What the f...? I can write ! Give me a pen and something to write on !"

My mother pulls a pen out of her handbag and I try to write on coaster laying on the bar. I try to write:"Dear Mother. This proves I can write" but I keep doubling letters and missing others (Third positive RC ! )

This time the feeling that I am dreaming is getting stronger, but I am still not fully lucid.

I:"Oh, I know what's going on. I'm probably just dreaming. See, I'll pinch my nose and I can still breath."

So I did the RC (number four!)

Mother:"That's part of the syndrome. I only feels like you're breathing through your nose but you are really breathing through your mouth!"

I:"Ok, give me that pen. I'll focus on a point and this will make me wake up if I'm dreaming".

Mother:"You won't wake up because you are already awake !"

I started starring at the top of the pen but I didn't wake up. (Btw, I read that this should work 100%, but it didn't). So the dream continued for a while and I never gained lucidity despite 4 positive RCs.

Has something like that ever occured to you ? That DCs gave you explanations for your RC results and thereby kept you from getting lucid ?

Haha! No, but thats a remarkable experience in RCs. I love it when dreams comment on how we manipulate dreams.

Maybe it's some sort of fight your subconscious carries out to keep you from LDing.

in all seriousness, i bet your relationship with your parents could have something to do with this.

Usually, my brain makes up reasons where I am the one justifying the craziness going on in the dreams, not the other DCs. While lucid I have had a couple of nasty DCs try to prevent me from stabilizing and enjoying my LDs...
