Became Lucid in dream.. woke up.. loud screeching/ringing?

I am still new to LDing, but over the past two weeks I have become lucid 3 times only to lose my lucidity 2-3 seconds later. I do my best to remain calm, but idk maybe the excitement is still getting to me and waking me up.

Anyway, this morning I tried a WILD, and ended up falling asleep and having a DILD. I realized I was dreaming because the picture on my license was way different than normal when a bartender asked to see my I.D. The dream faded quickly and I realized I was in bed. Immediately I heard a fairly loud screeching/ringing noise in my head that went away after 2-3 seconds. My body felt like it was floating and I could not feel my arms and hands on my stomache. I could feel them moving as I breathed, but I didnt feel like I could move my arms or my legs. I came out of the SP (or at least what i think was SP) after maybe 15-30 seconds and looked down and saw my arms were in fact on my stomache.

      My question is:

I know I've heard that a loud noise like this can be part of SP, but do any of you ever wake up from a lucid or a non lucid and hear this loud screeching/ringing noise? And if so, is there anyway to use it to your advantage to get back into the dream? Also, when one enters SP, say in a WILD, if you hear this loud noise... how long does it last?

Yeah, but doesn't happen to me often. I guess it happens to other people alot. I've never woken up from SP and gone back to sleep in SP, maybe because it was too disturbing, and I just want to get out of the SP. I have WILDed before though, and it usually takes me a few seconds - a minute to get out of that stage.

Everyone is different, I would guess.

Sounds like SP to me. Look up DEILD in the tutorials section or through the search function, if you are still in SP when you wake up, as long as you remain calm (if I freak out my heart starts pounding and I won't get back to sleep for at least an hour) you should be able to WILD. Even if you don't WILD, having just returned from a lucid you should be able to get a DILD out of the new one, I can usually chain DILDs that way.

Thanks for the info Dash and Shift!

I'll take ur advice and try to remain calm and do a chain DILD. I'll also look up some more information on DEILDs. I guess I was just pretty shocked because I've never woken up with a loud noise like that before. Hopefully, I can remain calm and ride the SP next time into a DEILD.

My pleasure Yea, the range of crazy 'symptoms' of SP are dazzling. I usually just get vibrations and some hallucinations, which can be creepy. I used to get a falling-through-the-bed sensation or actual physical paralysis every once in a while, but I rarely even experience SP to begin with. Probably because I'm always trying to now that I know I can lucid, as opposed to before when I just was afraid of being paralyzed
