WHAT RC works best for you?

What reality check do u use, and what works best for u?

      I don't use a clock..It's kinda like a habit..

Anyways...I do RC's when I'm doing something...alone thinking or something...

But in dreams I'm too busy to do RCs!!!!!!!

And to do a RC in a dream..don't you have to be LUCID?

I use the finger through the palm...and "I wanna fly" technique...

      It seems more logical...

Today I think in mah dream I tried to put my finger through my palm...and it felt like normal..nothing happened..

I don't even remember that much

      well anyways..tell me what u guys do.;

the reality check i use i holding my nose and trying to inhale. so far its worked. thats my favourite.

you should do RC's on at routine times during the day, as well as whenever you notice anything associated with a dream sign, or anything odd, or any time you think of it.

doing when you're alone thinking probably isn't the best time. i'm not sure, but from my own experience i'm not usually alone thinking in dreams. which makes sense, why would a subconcious dream about you day dreaming... doesn't make sense (to me anyway).

the point of the whole idea is that if you do it enough in waking life, then you do it in a dream without being lucid. dreams are your mental model of waking life.

if in dreams your running around not thinking under a sort of... "busy person's hypnosis" then you're probably doing the same thing in real life. this is one of the main obstacles of lucidity. you should go through the day more aware of yourself and your goal. try to develop a central awareness like we used to have as kids, because in dreams we are the centre of our universe.

just try some different RCs, be creative. there are heaps in the tutorial. find one you can relate to.

I just use ones from more traditional Eastern lines of thinking than more recent ones from primarily Western lines of thinking.

      Examples:
Instead of asking "Am I dreaming?", I say "I am dreaming."
Instead of asking "Is this a dream?", I say "This is what a dream feels like."
      Insanity is the new avant-garde.

      Instead of asking \"Am I dreaming?\", I say \"I am dreaming.\"
      Instead of asking \"Is this a dream?\", I say \"This is what a dream feels like.\"[/b]
Dream-scape, I'm interested in your technique. I always ask "Am I" instead of "I Am". Can you explain this concept more? I've read a few times about Eastern ways of thinking regarding dreams - treating them as the same as waking...

yep, pinching yer nose and breathing is by far the best in my opinion. im saying this because i have finally started to get the hang of lucid dreaming!!! i had my first lucid dream on monday using the pinch technique and i had 2 lucid dreams on wed using the same technique!!

So when you guys are talking to somebody...you guys pinch your nose?

When there is a fire with a burning baby...you pinch your nose? Oh I'm awake....

When there is a burgular in your house, you go..."WAIT I AM DREAMING"...and then you go DO'H

Man...how the hell do you do a RC during a fun/ important time....Like for an example....yesterday I went miniture golfing...I was too into the moment to even think of an RC.

      But it's becoming a habit now...even in my thoughts..when I think of something illogical..I say Am I dreaming....well PEACE

in real life i use the eastern idea of always thinking of everything as a contruct of your mind, "everything is the substance of dreams."

in a dream i usually know i'm dreaming before i do the RC...

if i was being robbed i would probably just stop and think for a sec or two if i could, and i would find it unessesary to pinch my nose. the only time i do it in waking life is when it doesn't look weird, simply to build up the habit.

Well what I have primarily read has stemmed from Buddhism. The following passage from the Buddha's Vajra Sutra may help explain part of the concept:

"All conditioned dharmas, are like a dream, like an illusion, like a bubble, like a shadow, like a dewdrop, like a lightening flash; you should contemplate them thus."
      Insanity is the new avant-garde.

well i have finally started having LD's cuzz ive had 4 this week and they all have started the exact same way. all of them start with me in my bed and i wake up(its a false awakening) and i decide to pinch my nose just incase i really didnt wake up and then guess what, i breath through my pinched nose even though it seems like im actually just waking up normally in the middle of the night. well after i do this i get out of my bed(still in the dream) and do some spinning and like magic, the scenery changes from night time to day!! and i start my lucid dream from there.

I dont do reality checks since they are unnessecary for me. I just try to become aware of my surroundings...VERY aware. Like if im going to the other room I look at everything and see if anything strange happens on my way there.

I used to do this one. I would just close my hands and open them. When they are open, the object that i was focusing would blow up or everything would freeze in time, or i would use TK powers. All those I am VERY good at in my dreams and I do them with ease and in non-LD's to

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard
