question about sleep paralysis + more

Hey guys. I'm back after about a one month hiatus, and started up my DJ again Since I started again, I have been working on consistant reality checks through out the day (back on a schedule...school time!), and dream recall at night. However, I am very curious about Sleep Paralysis.

Why do people want to put themselves into Sleep Paralysis? What does it do when you CONCIOUSLY enter it? I've gotten to that point twice, however I opened my eyes and moved before I became paralyzed. I'm confused on what it does for a person becoming paralyzed while they're still awake. I mean, if your awake while it's happening, your not dreaming yet, right? hmmm....

I also am wondering about Lucids during brief naps (1 to 2 hours max). I get home from school at 1:45 tomorrow, and I usually like to sleep until 3:00. I find it easy that as I'm dozing, I recognize my "dream thoughts" (the bizarre abstract thoughts that come into mind as your dreaming. Like in the saltcube movie, I see images, but dont remember why or when I started to see it) Is it possible to have a decent Lucid Dream in one of these maps?

Ok, lets start at the begining:

People wanr to go into SP (Sleep Paralisis) to go directley into a lucid dream, while a DILD brings lucidity in the middle of the dream. You need to keep concious to know you are in a dream, otherwise you just go to sleep and get a DILD at best. Usually, people describe being awake while in SP as being, well, paralized. Most people fell a "wave of heaviness" before they get into the dream. The also see HI (Hypnic Imagry [spelling problems..]), which most people describe as being random juxtoposes of colour. That's when you know you are about to go into a dream. This describes it well: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=42271

And, yes, naps are known for amazing dreams, especially LDs. That page I posted should help alot.

      I hope this helps!

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

Okay thanks guys! a question about Hypnogogic Imagery though. These colors you speak of....they occur when your eyes are CLOSED? every night before I go to sleep I see colors....unless you mean you see these colors appearing when your eyes are OPEN?

      Thanks again!

I see colors and things when I fall into SP, obviously my eyes are closed because I'm asleep, but my eyes are open since I'm in a dream.
Once been caught, second be free, third me see, four I scream.
