Yeah, I understand what you're saying, I just wish I could control it.

I think the best thing you can do when these sorts of problems occur is to have a definite plan for what you'll do any time you realize you're dreaming, which is something I have to work on too. And you're right, even when you're intending to do something, distractions can be pretty tough...I think the most important thing is to consciously commit yourself before going to sleep to doing something in particular if+when you get lucid. Personally, I don't think I'm ever really smart enough during my lucid dreams to think of these things, so I definitely always need a plan from beforehand.
That's so funny, because in the two out of three lucid dreams I've had, I've always ended up flying too for no real reason also!
And yes, I'll try and work on consciously telling myself to be more intentional in dreams before going to bed. That might help.

I could NEVER wake up from a LD dissapointed. I do know what you're talking about though. My first "real" long LD was weird. The reason I realized it was a dream instantly was because the dream started with me awake, doing my home work in a different room.
Well actually I woke up in a different room than I fell asleep in, and I had my books around me.
It was really weird, I never actually did think about it that it was a dream, I just kinda... knew. I don't know how to explain it any better than that in relation to yours.
Yeah, actually I was kind of sad that I was disappointed too. I'm sure as I get more practice with LDing, I'll start feeling the opposite.
Yeah, that's happened to me once too! The whole "just knowing that you're dreaming" thing... It's interesting!

Just don't take it too often as it can cause nerve damage (but only with high doses and constant use). Good luck!
Thanks for the advice, lostinmydreams! Actually, I feel a little iffy in general about taking supplements and the like, but if I have a change of heart later on down the road, I'll follow your advice!
