      MILD Shortcut?

      Quick question.

Stage 1 of Mild is to say "I will wake after I dream and remember my dream".

Stage 2 is after waking up to say "When I dream I will realise my dreaming".

But once you've gotten quite good at dream recall, is it really neccesary to
      go through the stages.

Is it detrimental to go straight into stage 2 when you go to bed at night?

Or can you get away with starting off with "I will lucid dream and I will remember my dream".

      Any advice much appreciated.

It couldn't hurt. I'd still throw in the bit about waking up after a dream also just because it makes penning it down a little easier.

      I guess so.

I have a suspicion that the two stage process is because our intial dreams
are a bit short. Maybe by the time you've have one long enough to remember (and wake from), its time to try a lucid.

The MILD technique does seem very specific about the two stage process though.
