A WILD night (but no cigar)

So I tried my first Wild.
Stupidly I decided to give it a bash straight after going to bed.

I sat very still. One arm over my chest, one behind my head. Counted down from 100 to zero a large number of times.

Eventually my arms and legs got numb. I figured I was on the right path. There were various distractions:

      1) For some reason my eyes would open of their own accord.
      2) My arms became very uncomfortable (like when you have a dead arm...not just numb but painful).
      3) My wife came over a few times in the night snuggle. Strangely though I don't think this had much effect. In fact the feeling of my wife against me
started to fade away too at one point.
      4) I sometimes just had to swallow. This seemed like very hard work.

Anyway I seemed to cycle close to SP a number of times. My limbs would feel hot. I heard a popping in my ears. It seemed hard to breath. My chest and head got tight. But I just couldn't go under. Twice I swallowed just as I should have been passing out.

Eventually I gave up the ghost and decided to give up. I rolled onto my side.
It was very hard work. Like I was very heavy.

Anyhow, it was near midnight when I started out. When I finished I was shocked to find it was 5.10am. 5 hours. WTF. How could it have been that long?

Anyhow, after a longggggggggggg day I'm shattered. I will be passing out and getting some quality zzzzzzz's tonight I think.

      So is this all normal?
Was I on the right track?

      This happened to me too, I've got a few theories ;
Maybe the feeling of your wife coming in was an hallucination,
in my situation my mom came in and she was against me.
I think that we were actually dreaming, but didn't get the right timing to enter it. Or another possibility is that we lose our sense of time while WILDing. About the swallowing thing, it's a reflex of the body, some people claim that this can be prevented by simply moving our head a bit backwards.
      I hope that helped. ~

That happened to me too! Well just 1 and 4. My eyes would keep opening. And i had to swallow. These two things set me back a while, I never did enter sleep.

This happens to me too. My eyes started to open without me trying, so I was thinking "WOO, is this what a lucid dream is like!?" And then I realized I was actually awake, AFTER getting up and walking around.

So I tried my 2nd Wild last night after about 4.5 hrs sleep.
This time much much easier. Felt the itch a number of times, but moved and it went each time.

Finally I ignored it and it shortly faded. Not long after I felt the warm fuzzy wave run
      rise from head to toe.

Unfortunately I proceeded to just fall asleep.

But it was a good experiment and takes me one step closer to WILD.
