      Does noise effect dreaming/lucid dreaming?

I sleep with an Air Conditioner on (yes, it IS October, and I DO live in New York. lmao) and It's constant noise throughout the night. When I don't sleep with an A.C on, I have a fan. Can this possibly be effecting my Dream Recall and my abilities to have a potential Lucid Dream? (being as I haven't had one yet i mean)

If it does effect it, I will just turn off the A.C. Although, it's gotten to the point where It feels weird to fall asleep without any sound in the background

I don't know if it affects recall or not, but it should help you sleep because one time when i used the fan it helped me sleep and i had a very nice sp. It felt like i was sinking further and further into bed and that night i had about 3 or 4 dreams and i remembered them all. Unfortunately i didn't write them down and as of today i forgot them.

i always try to have a heater, air conditioner, or a fan running while im going to sleep because I love the noise, all the noise is gonna do is make you fall asleep faster if you enjoy the noise and to help you WILD you can listen to the soft noise instead of concentrating on your breath.

they're right! most sounds wont disrupt dreaming unless its a loud disturbance like a slammed bedroom door or something.
I've had audio influence my dreams, and normally the brain will convert physically heard audio into imagery in a dream.

Alright, that's good news! here I thought that maybe my months worth of practise went down the drain due to the background noise. That's a bit of a relief! haha. Thanks guys!
