      WILD right at the start

I keep reading that it's best have slept about 4 - 6 hours before waking and attempting to induce sleep paralysis to WILD.

Is it possible to just get in bed, lie still, focus on one spot, have SP and then go straight into REM and lucid dream?

Ummm. Not for the average person, no.

I've got a question though, why does it feel like when I try to WILD I've been in bed for HOURS. 45 minutes last night felt like an hour and a half trying to WILD.

Does it just take mad patience or something? I could kinda feel getting closer and closer to a dream land near the end, but I was just getting anxious cause I was getting some strong HI's but I didn't want to let the moment go, but I just ruined it. IS patience key, or am I missing something?

I personally wouldn't waste my time in the beginning of my sleep, for relatively crappy REM periods, it would take me forever to fall asleep anyway. The only exception would be napping, which for some reason seem to be different.

It is possible. I'm just not adept enough at WILDing that it becomes a realistic possibility. Not when I'm only getting 5 hours of sleep a night anyway.

Totally agreed And also, I'm not sure if you can get true SP after you just go to bed. If you are sleepy you would end up sleeping, if you are not,you would be wide awake and again you will end up sleeping. After 5 hours a sleep, things become very different

So why does it feel like I've been laying in bed for hours on end when I try to reach SP WILDing? I just lay there thinking about it. What my deal?

      cool. Thanks guys.

I was lying in bed for seriously 2 hours last night trying, so don't sweat it man.

The closest I got was at one point, using the breathing method, I began to tingle all over almost like I was shaking and my chest felt like it was being pressed. I felt like I was spinning but, I must have gotten too excited or something.

My eyes had been kind of flittery (it was 4 o clock in the morning...u think I'd be sleepy) and they didn't want to stay shut. I had kind of forced myself to keep them closed and after all the tingling I thought I may have done it because I thought I saw my room behind a veil. I was about to do a reality check but it turns out that my eyes had just opened up and I had failed.

      =(.

I'll try tonight after 5 hours and see what I get with that.

Fragmastr, if you must get a lucid dream early for whatever reason, I would suggest the DEILD method. DEILD sidesteps the problem of relaxation and entering SP, and doesn't take away hours of sleep if it fails. In fact, the majority of my lucid dreams have been DEILD just because it's so easy.

Patience is the key like you asked, but there is one thing. Don't lay there thinking about SP. I mean don't think it. Just try to focus on "I'm dreaming.. I'm..". SP will come eventually. If you don't want to say the "I'm dreaming" part, or if it doesn't work for you, just observe everything you are expriencing at that moment.

Yeah I tried the,"1 I'm dreaming...2 I'm dreaming...etc.." For three times I got to around 70-80 and started thinking about something else. That's when I tried to just visualize and think about random shit. That was when I got the closest, and then just went to sleep. I definitely do feel like I'm making progress though. Just slowly. Then one night it will be like,"BAM!" HAHA

Downright impossible. Do it with a WBTB, if you stay focused it should just come right to you.

Common now, nothing's impossible. Don't listen to such negativity bud, It will only make it harder for you. It IS possible I HAVE done it and its basically the same as a WBTB wild. The only thing is that when you do achieve this you need to focus extra hard to not fall back into a dream or just plain asleep. keep reminding yourself that you're in a dream.
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

      Really? I get the opposite.
What seems like 1/2 hour trying to wild turns out to have been 2 hours.
