Right before I went to bed, I was on these forums looking for help. I had read about WILDs before, but I could never wake myself up after 5-7 hours.
I know, all the guides say for you to get that amount of sleep, but I didn't. Here's my schedule.
At 12:02 I Laid down in bed and imagined being filled with sand, and having that sand slowly drain out. I closed my eyes for what felt like a few seconds when I started seeing lights. I focused all my attention into breathing and the lights. Suddenly, my body started tingling. It was a weird feeling and I almost opened my eyes. Trying not to bring my attention to the feeling, I again focused on the lights. The back of my neck, armpits, cheeks, and sides became hot. My mind snapped to my body and for some reason I didn't have any feeling in my fingers or toes and the numbness was moving. I felt my eyes, leg, and wrist twitch. Despite my eyes being sealed shut, I could actually see my room. In all the excitement, I forgot about breathing. Before I was breathing like this: i-i-i-i-i-n... o-o-o-o-u-t. Now I was breathing like: in, out... in, out... in, out... in, out. It was like there was a constantly refilling bubble of air in a small, water filled container and the only way it would fill is if I breathed out and if I didn't get to it in time, it would disappear. I realized I was taking in more air than breathing out and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I couldn't move. Because of this, I started panicking. Slowly, my eyes fluttered, my body relaxed, and I opened my eyes.
As I was going through all that, it felt as if 10 minutes had passed. I looked at the clock and it was now 12:41. I glanced at the clock again, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. As I became more aware of my body, I realized I was drenched in sweat. I tried moving my arm up to scratch my face, but I only succeeded in having a limp piece of meat (wow...that came out wrong...) hit the headboard. I flexed my fingers and they barely made it to my palm. I put all my energy in trying to move my leg and it only moved a few inches and then my whole leg cramped up. Now, I just KNOW that I was close to becoming lucid. I kept imagining my self walking out of my own body as I lay there and every time I imagined it, my chest rose up a little bit.
I tried once more, but only managed to do it for 11 minutes, though it felt like 5. The only problem I'm having is that now whenever I try to fall asleep, I start seeing this stuff and now I feel like my body isn't getting enough rest.
I have a few questions:
What can I do better?
What am I doing wrong?
As I'm seeing the Hypnotic Imagery, is my body still getting rested as if I were having normal sleep?
