      Question Accidental WILD?

Today I stayed home sick, so I went into my upstairs TV room and took my ferret out of his cage. I watched TV for a while and he went to sleep somewhere under the couch. After a while I fell asleep for a while then woke up again. I watched tv for like ten more minutes before heading back to sleep on the couch.

I think that this is when I had a WILD unintentionally. I felt prickles on me sort of like needles. Then I was dreaming, but I knew that I was. Immediately I thought "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming" Of course I ended up forgetting everything about spinning around when the dream started to fade, so I panicked.

I don't know how this ended up happening, but everything was just black but I could feel things in the dream. I knew that I was asleep. After a while of this I felt my ferret on me, so I tried to force myself to wake up. I guess that I was really dreaming that it was him because when I woke up he was sleeping.

I don't remember that much of it. But I think that I had a WILD.

Firslty, hello and welcome to the forums!

To answer your question, yes, it sounds like a WILD to me. You might be surprised at the number of 'unintentional first WILDs' that happen to people.

As far as not being able to recall techniques while in the dream, that is a matter of dream recall/memory crossover. Recall works both ways. That is, a high recall not only makes it to where you remember your dreams, but to where you remember more specific RL stuff within a dream. How do you improve recall? Keep a detailed DJ if you're not already.

That prickly feeling very well could have been the first sign of sleep paralysis which leads me to believe that it was, in fact, a WILD. For mroe WILDing info, there's some good stuff on it in here. Plus, it's a good LD read anyway. Especially for someone starting out.

Anyway, your dreams will get longer and more vivid with practice and experience, but for now you can be proud of your first WILD even though it was unintentional as it is a difficult style of LD to induce.

If you've any more questions on the topic I as well as any dream guide will be happy to answer them.

      Keep it up!

      See you around the forums.
