      Nice WILDing position

Every time I have done this it has worked for me.
I hope it works for you too as I have heard the reasoning of this method from others as well after talking about it.

Most know WILDing is best done on your back. (out of your normal sleep position) and keeps you from falling asleep too quickly.
I bet most have tried this only to find themselves still awake hours later.
Most give up, as I have often, feeling cheated and a bit angry for the waste of time.

Well many of my co-Luciders and myself agree there is a body switch that stops you going to sleep when lying on your back (and similar...sitting upright etc).
Many times I have WILDed since, lying on my back, but with my head to the side and tilted upwards slightly. (Don't give yourself a stiff neck though).
We think this "switch" is linked to your head position and is located around the neck area. By doing this twist you trick your body (neck) into thinking you aren't sleeping on your back (or awake).

So unless over a long time you have trained yourself to sleep upright or on your back, or have done so all your life, try this method and it may just get you WILDing in the favorite position.

(Before any retort with "their position has worked"...I am only going on reports and communications I have had, and how many documents say to lay on your back to accomplish results)

I use this technique myself sometimes when I'm finding I can't fall asleep during a WILD. I find it does help.

I've mostly done my WILD attempts from by back. Although, regardless of my head position, I can't WILD from my back; I just can't fall asleep from there (with one exception when I did). I've ended up with the WILDs I've had by starting on my back and once I'm on the verge of sleep (but unable to due to my position), I'll turn to my side and try from there.

One odd thing to note is that when I wake up and find myself on my back with my right knee raised more than I find myself in other sleep positions upon waking. Although I may just notice these occurrences more than others.

Head to side (cheek on pillow) and tilt chin up slightly.
Also found when sleeping your eyes roll up too. Try resting your eyes up to the top, but not so much to hurt or make them flutter.

      I've had similar experiences.
On my back I just cannot fall asleep - well I can, if I'm *extremely* tired, which I hardly am.
Tilting the head allows me to fall asleep, too.
For a few times no, I've tried lying on my back without a tilted head for some time and relax, not thinking about anything. My awareness fades slightly and I percieve time faster, and when I think I've been lying around for long enough, I become conscious/aware again and tilt my head to the side, allowing myself to sleep.
Two nights ago I had semi-WILD experiences. I didn't experience the transition into the dream world, I just sort of "popped up" in it, lucid.
That night I decided to try that just *every* night. I've wanted to try different techniques but I often gave up or didn't even *actually* try them.
      That changed now
