      Thinking too slowly

Without trying to make myself sound like a retard, ummmm...I am not the quickest of thinkers. Okay, that made me sound like a retard!

But in all seriousness, if someone says something to me, I'm like a George Castanza...thinking of a proper reply several minutes or even hours later! A good example is with work. We are doing a Secret Santa thing, where we have picked names, and we buy gifts for the person we have picked throughout the week. My sectert Santa was not getting anything for me, but I was not bothered by it. The person who set this whole thing up asked me if I was feeling left out. I said no. But it wasn't until a few hours later that I realized I should have asked HIM if HE felt left out (because he has no secret Santa, having set the whole thing up.)

I'm wondering if this hinders me from lucid dreaming as I may not be thinking quick enough to realize I'm dreaming. Any thoughts? Personal experiences? Suggestions? Advice?

And if I think of anything else, I'll post it here a few hours from now!

I find myself trying to come up with correct responses hours after a convo or even before. I suck at DILDs also but I do find WILDs to be easier, except I dont try for them anymore because I'm impatient and hate waking up early just to lay there.

oh, and don't forget to get a full 8 hours sleep. the last 2 hours are filled with much more vivid dreams. I can, about 90% of the time, remember full conversations i had or remember exacttly what i was thinking.

Interesting idea well I have fast reactions, both with words and with my physical body, but I doubt it will greatly help my lucid dreaming.

Even though I consider myself somewhat witty and ready with words, dreamworld makes my mind and all that very fuzzy. What I have gathered from others long time lucid dreamers, this happens to everyone occasionally. It's more matter of awareness in my opinion or state of mind.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I seem to flip-flop with this...

It's honestly rather weird. Some times I will be unable to react to things even if I get a bit of warning, and other times I will instictively do the right thing without even thinking about it. I don't know why this happens, but I don't think it affects my lucid dreaming, because this only comes up in situations I haven't premeditated. It's not like "oh man, he just did that what do I do now..." its more like, "Hey, it's a luid dream! what do I do again?" and then i do what I planned ahead to. So no, I don't think it does. Just make sure that you know what to do ahead.

There is nothing wrong with thinking before replying. What you said doesn't sound like you have a problem receiving your environment, so I guess you'll realize when a reality check fails and you're dreaming. If that is not the case, one can still do WILD. I don't see a problem.
