      Cool Help with dream recall

      Hello,

I've been having a lot of trouble recalling dreams. Just list tips, tricks, and advice as though I never heard of any methods regarding dream recall.

      Thank you

PS - the last 3-4 months of testing dream recalling have benefited me in my skill only a bit, so I'm going to just start anew.

Well being the first to respond I'll start with the obvious, dream journal. When you wake up don't move don't open your eyes and try to remember your dream. Take as long as you need and if you can't come up with anything start naming topics of common dreams of yours or just common bits of your life and hopefully that'll spark your memory. If you don't get it after you get out of bed don't give up, I've recalled dreams the following night sometimes. After a couple of days it should improve.

I read a second ago that sleeping north to south helps your REM last longer. Crazy I know. B12, Milk, Cheese, Chocolate. You can try to get up in the middle or a rem cycle too. There's lots of different tips and tricks I'm sure. The old tried standard is the journal though. Hope that helps.

If you can remember something in your dream, think backwards. That helps me more than trying to start and the begining which goes no where

I would have to agree with Spidey - having a dream journal and writing in it as often as possible is probably the BEST way of improving dream recall.

No problem brosky. I've been trying to train my recall up again to so I'm well versed in those tips and tricks. Pretty much everyone is going to tell you to keep a journal and they're right. This is how quick it worked for me. The first day nothing until later that day and I had a flash and remembered a little. The second day I had a foggy recall of one dream. And today I had two to three dreams. Not too bad, this is all personal tho so it might be longer for you.

I'd suggest the instant you wake up, that you don't move. Just lie there and think about your dreams. Try to think about what made them different and think of key points and write them down.

Whenever I move around after waking up, for some odd reason I seem to just forget fleeting parts of dreams. They just kinda flee away while I'm trying to get up and write them down.

But, when I lay there and think back, I tend to have more results.

Drink some Milk before hand. And then, before you go to bed, tell yourself "I *WILL* remember my dreams." Tell yourself this only a few times only to make sure that you're confident you can do it (I actually talk to myself when I do this, this way I'm not only thinking about it, but I am hearing it which I feel has a double impact)
