      Progress in WILDing

      Hey,

      (dream in cursive)

So I already had a few experiences WILDing, but without getting into the dream. Somehow I always realized that I was getting close, so I became too aware - too active. On christmas I was out celebrating with a lot of my friends I haven't seen in a while and I was out until about 8:30 in the morning. The next day I woke up at 4:30 pm and stayed in bed laying until about 9. (lots of alcohol.. but I wasn't really hung over, just more in a daze)

On that evening I met with a friend and we smoked some weed. I wasn't feeling bad, rather just weird, since my sleep rythm was so messed up and when I went to bed, I felt physically tired without really feeling mentally tired (having slept all day). So I was just spending the whole night somewhere between sleep and waking state. I don't recall actually falling asleep and I feel like I was awake most of the night.

Most of the time I was moving around a lot, always dazing off and coming back. Then, I don't recall wether or not I was moving before (I guess not) I started to see a mental picture of a big plane field. I then noticed this image being a lot more vivid than the flashings before. I saw a stairway in the middle of this field and could mentally run up the stairs and there was a light in the end. Looked exactly like a portal - so I (mentally) ran to the top and jumped through that portal being sucked into the dream dimension imediatly. That was awesome.

I then found myself in a room in which I could move, but I couldn't exactly disconnect from the real world. I heard myself snore a little bit and noticed how off it was from my breating, that was pretty weird. I also was still aware of the real world and was also aware of my surroundings in my dream. It was crazy. I looked at some objects and I felt it being very real and amazing, but after about 5 minutes I went back into the waking state and opened my eyes. After that I was pretty mad at myself and I could not get back into it.

After I jumped through the portal I could control everything with my thoughts. I remember actually building the room out of darkness and creating things I could look at and touch afterwards. That was really amazing. But it is still not as vivid anymore as it was during and after the experience

Since I have started trying to improve my dream recall and lucid dreaming more actively by really getting into it, reading DV and writing down my dreams, I have managed to remember 1-3 dreams a week instead of 0. Also a lot of really long and vivid ones, in which I didn't become lucid. (I don't seem to be very rational in my dreams..) One big event was actually having a DILD and realizing it's potential - and now, after tonight, I feel like I have made another important progress!

      Thoughts?

      Edit:
My hope is that now, since I have seen that "portal" I will find it easier to picture it next time. I feel like I now know what to look for. he he, hopefully I am right - it would be amazing if I could have vivid lucid dreams on a regular basis. (I'm trying not to pressure myself)

      2nd Edit:
Since I have come across a lot of questions on which way is the best to WILD: I think it's best to read all of the techniques and understand what is the important part of them, keeping them in mind and then trying your own, personal and most comfortable way - I think it is just important to understand what is happening while you try and therefore you can react in a proper and individual way.
