S-WILD ( I know that everybody is getting tired of all the ILD's )

S-WILD would theoretically stand for sleeping wake induced lucid dream. My theory is this: you could have a WILD and sleep through the whole night ( maybe it is the same thing as a regular WILD..? please let me know ). However, I have some techniques to help induce it. First off, lay flat. Imagine you are a rag doll and are filled with sawdust. Imagine the sawdust is slowly moving to your toes and draining out. This will make you very tired, and almost detached from your body. This is good. Next, imagine that there is a heavy weight on your chest. Focus on that weight and nothing else. Just focus until your body falls asleep. Done right, you could very well be in a WILD

No one is getting tired of MILDs noob.

      This seems obvious.

This isn't a technique; this is a specific thing that works for one person, and probably only a few times at that. If people actually try to follow this and expect to magically get a lucid dream after failing at other techniques, then they're idiots.

Still a wonderful relaxation technique, thanks for sharing!

I never said that this would magically guarantee a lucid dream, and it is all theoretical. The point is it may be a way for some people to focus more on lucid dreaming, therefore increasing the chance of having one. Also, I think you could induce a WILD this way.

Sounds just like another relaxation technique to me. I'm glad it works for you, that's great, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it an "ILD" or a genuine technique until it has been thoroughly tested. That bugs some people. But like I said, sounds like a great relaxation technique. I'll try it sometime.

I'm not sure if this counts, but I think I was achieving sleep paralysis this way. After a while of getting tired, I started to have a hard time moving even my hands, and even then they moved in jerks, not smooth movements

First of all, I never told anybody that it would magically work. My theory was that it was possible to have a WILD sleeping through the whole night ( as far as I know, WILD usually involves going to sleep for a few hours, waking up, and falling back to sleep ). Second of all, it was only a theory that I had as a newb here one Dream Views. I posted this on my second day here. So, thanks for the hospitality and the warm welcome, and have a nice day.

Too bad I can't edit this. I was told it was the beginning of sleep paralysis. Of course, I always want to test and see if I can still move my hands.... and I do it so much it wakes me up.

Kind of. The point was that you get a solid night of sleep. Most variations of WILD ( excluding DEILD ) count on the fact that you wake up in the middle of the night, stay up for a little bit, and go back to sleep intent on lucid dreaming. Even DEILD counts on you waking up in the middle of the night, although I tend to be successful with those.

Dizko is trying out to be lucid during the whole sleep here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=68720

so it's technakly what you've been trying to do cause that way you don't have to wake up.

Good point. I have been somewhat active on that thread ( you can find me on there ) but I didn't realize it was the same thing. The only difference seems to be that mine would be lucidity for a short amount of time, such as traditional WILD's, and his would be lucidity for 8 hours straight ( or however long you usually sleep ).

In brief, your thing is not just a relaxation technique.

So funny how saying that someone's idea is a Relaxation Technique so insulting on this website!

No. The first one or two paragraphs are my theory. The rest is a relaxation technique that helps me.

But you only have one parragraph?

Anywho, I feel so dumb... lol

It would still have been insulting if the person who've discovered WILD had been told that his technique was only a relaxation technique.

But your relaxation techniques help for falling into SP which is really good for WILDing...

Right. I still don't see what confuses you so much, but I'll be content with that. It occurs to me that we should have carried this conversation out through PM's. Oh well, the post count will help bring publicity to this thread, which is always nice.
