Hey all! First time post here.
recently Ive been rather obsessed with lucid dreaming (just watched the film "waking life" and been reading stuff constantly). I think ive been rather passive with trying to train myself to become aware in a dream though, I have excellent dream recall, I can usually remember around 3 dreams a night, and I just started a dream journal. Usually in my dreams I dont really feel like im controlling myself, It seems more like Im just doing things, Is this usually the case? and are there any tips for getting over this?
I do think that I might have actually had a lucid experience though, kind of. Just a couple of nights ago I woke from my sleep at about 3 am, and scince I was awake I decide to write my dream in my journal, and I really really wanted to lucid dream, so when I started going back to sleep I was thinking about it a lot.
Eventually, I dont know If I was actually dreaming (in REM sleep) because I kind of still felt like I was still lying in my bed and it was dark. But I was getting dreamy feelings and I might have been seeing some things, so I thought I might be dreaming. Then the feeling began to fade and all I could thing of was a thing ive been reading about, dream spinning, but my vision seemed to have faded, so I diddnt really know how to spin... then all of the sudden I could see a "top down" view, looked almost identical to the old grand theft auto games (a lot of my dreams are heavily influenced by video games, usually not as specifically as this, but It seems like buttons are being pressed to make me do things and stuff). any ways, now I started spinning my "character" and I had this amazing feeling, and I started to see in first person again, but all that surrounded me were like, really old video game style hills (like the battle zone background), and I kept spinning. Then I felt like I was back in my bed again, but I started feeling lighter, and almost felt like I was floating, but thats all I remember... and I havent really remembered a dream scince...
But I just always hear that lucid dreams are really vivid and realistic, but this just seemed very dark like my vision was always fading...
anyways, any tips and insight will be greatly appreciated.
