      Tips for Overcoming Fear?

Hi, first post. When I try to attain lucidity, I start to get freaked out and mess it up. Right now, when I'm fully aware there is nothing frigthening about it but when I'm half awake and my body is tingling it messes me up.
Yesterday I was laying down, and was letting sleep come to me and I got about halfway into a lucid dream, my eyes were closed but I could see my bedroom and I moved my arm in my dream, then noticed it didn't move in real life and I freaked out and ruined it. Very Annoying.. Off to try again

Shit, I just read that 'tips for making yoru body fall asleep' thread and now I'm terrified about aliens and murderers sitting on my bed.

Just don't listen to any of that nonsense and enjoy your dreams.

Honestly, I want to ban 'SP' from the site. Please do not let the fear of a sensed presence hold you back. Just research sensed presences and sleep paralysis and do some searches on DV about it. You will find many many motivational posts and suggestions to get around this unwarranted fear of a relatively rare phenomenon. Fearing this thing is going to hold you back or turn it into something negative, just like any dream. Just think positively and eagerly about lucid dreaming, its induction, and your dream goals. Please do the research and understand sensed presences before fearing it, at least. It will make you infinitely more comfortable with the prospect of actually entering SP, which is unnecessary and rare enough on its own.
