      dreamless

well not realy dreamless but what has happend to me is that when i first started attemting lucid dreaming all of the dreams where very clear to me and i could remeber so much. but what seemed to have happend as i have gone back to school i have what i like to call dreamless nights. where the hole time you sleep its just total blackness. now i know i am still dreaming because i have kept a dream jornal for 2 weeks now and my memrey of dreams are preaty good so i can remeber the dreams out of the blackness. but i was wondering i dont think i can lucid dream like this because im not emerged in the dream, and frankly when im asleep i just dont fell the dream. right now i am trying constant reality cheaks wich i think is called MILD. should i try somthing like WILD or FILD to get a good clean lucid dream?

everybody dreams every night you just dont remember it. you need to work on your dream recall

The amount of REM sleep you get can vary though. Some nights I get very little - I know this because I wake up frequently during the night and I cannot recall a single dream. The suspicion is confirmed at the end of the night when I check my dream mask and find that it has hardly detected any REM sleep all night. So, you can go without much dreaming, and theoretically without any I suppose.

Sorry I can't help you evan, I have the same problem and am still working on it !

If you are doing constant reality checking that is most definitely not a MILD. Reality checking frequently during the day focuses on a simple DILD, either by spontaneous reality checking, conscious reality checking, or just increasing awareness overall. A MILD, on the other hand, focuses on one's ability to remember to do a reality check in their dream. So you don't even necessarily have to RC during the day if your memory is good enough for a MILD to be effective, although of course a) why limit yourself to one supposed technique and b) it helps to be very familiar with RCing

Just keep working on your dream recall. Two weeks is practically irrelevant, just keep building it up. Also, how much sleep are you limited to now? You should try napping during the afternoon or something, if possible.

thankyou to all answers. i now know that i wont be trying a WILD dream or a FILD dream. i tryed a FILD dream last night, i got to the part where your body fells heavy and your eyes start moving rapidly, just i got so scared. i tryed to open my eyes but i couldent, i tryed harder and harder paniking more every second. i eventually opend my eyes. did a reality cheak just to be sure i wasent dreaming, and i couldent get to sleep the rest of the night. it had to be one of the scariest moments of my life no jokes. oh and i sleep for about 9 hours of sleep from 11 till 8.

Just keep getting more experience. Once you realize that anything you experience is harmless, and all of the benefits that exist, you won't even be worried about that kind of stuff. Just come up with a list of dream goals and stay excited
