an important part to WILDing - 'pretending to dream'

      hello

i have only had one WILD and that was accidental. iv read up a lot on it etc.
a lot of guides say that just keep still and somthing will happen, but it does not with me.
i am fairly sure this is because the part of the brain that controls my body (the part that sends the messages to roll over etc) is aware that my 'conscious' mind is still active.

i watched a documentary about dreaming on youtube. and it said that there is a part of the brain where all the 5 senses come together, and are
're-programed' into a readable message for our conscious mind. well this is the place where dreams are made

so then last night as i was going to sleep, i had my usual random thought fireings (the ones that send us to sleep) but i decided to imagine myself in a scenario but using all 5 senses. i picked up an apple, felt the texture, smelt it, bit into it and listed to punch, and the taste. i then made my way to my room, and as i passed a muntle piece, i swept all the ornaments of it feeling them in my hand, hearing them come crashing to the ground.

i did some other spontanious stuff, and eventualy got to my bed. after this really imaginative adventure i realised my body had started to shut down ( i recognised this feeling from my previous WILD attempts).

im pretty sure this is becaused i mimicked the low level brain waves of a dream, it may not have been nearly as strong, but it was of the same type. the part of the brain that controls my body probably 'saw' this and assumed it was a dream.

when you try this dont pre-set your destination, dont say, im gonna end up in this place. be spontanious, start flying, feel the wind in your face

i havnt tried this in a WBTB because my two brothers are at home for half term (one of whom is autistic) so imvery stressed and will probably fail a WILD, which will piss me off.

we usualy inly imagine with sight (and somtimes sound) so it is suprisingly hard to imagine the other senses but the more i do it the easier it gets.

sorry iv explained it in a crappy way.

if anyone wants to try this id love to hear how it goes. good luck

I used to have a problem with falling asleep because my mind was always racing, but I learned that if I do that stream-of-consciousness thing and just think about a bunch of random objects one after another I would eventually go into a dream and fall asleep. Coincidentally (or maybe not) this seems to also be happening when I try to WILD after a WBTB and I will certainly try using all 5 senses from now on. Thanks! Great idea.

it seems that using all 5 senses helps keep everything stable.
