      Combo Chaining

A poster a long while back made a post about chaining lucid dreams with false awakenings, I just wanted to add my two cents to that for what works well for me.

What works great for me when I actually get an LD is a combination of DEILD and false awakenings. The activities I usually participate in in a lucid dream cause me to not hold on to them for very long, 5 minutes at the most. But I am able to chain usually between 5 and 10 LDs in a row. Each time I think I have woken up I do a reality check. If I am still asleep (a false awakening) then no problem, I jump right back into full lucidity and do my thing. But usually I can only chain about 2-4 in a row before I'll wake myself up for real. In this stage, I do a DEILD, and try to reenter the dream. This usually works at lease once, sometimes twice. The combination of the two techniques causes a chain of lucids that, last time I tried, got me about 50 minutes worth of lucid dreaming, the longest I've ever obtained.

Has anyone else tried chaining through false awakenings and DEILDs?

I get that same thing most times I've LD'd. I'll go through a series or chains as you call it, of false awakening and going straight back into lucidity and going through reality checks if need

This morning I had this happen again. Its cool that I''ll always go lucid, but it is kind of annoying as well because I can go through 10 different times when I false awake and have to start over. I don't know if you feel the same way...

I agree, the starting over is irritating. But before I learned to do this I just had 5 minutes lucids and then woke up, so I put up with having to start over.

This the the only way I've ever LD'd. I have no idea what prompted me to DEILD the first time I woke up from a dream and went straight back into the same dream with full lucidity then chained 3 more dreams.

The next night I had a false awakening and chained 3 dreams but I broke SP the fourth time because I wasn't going into my dream and got impatient.

This was about a week ago and since I've had no LDs
