      Cold Temperatures...

My Spanish teacher told me that being in a cold room stimulates the brain and makes you more awake. Then, I thought, "What if this could help people achieve lucidity in a dream?". I have never had a lucid dream, (but I've been close...) but I thought this might help.

      Somebody try it...

Dnow about that, but I know for a fact that you fall asleep much easier in a cold room than a warm room.

What was it that your body cools down when you sleep or something? I read that being in a colder room helps this process or something.

Yeah your body does cool off as you sleep. But why is it easier to fall asleep in a cold room?

      Check this out: http://utahhomeexperts.wordpress.com/2008/05/16/can%E2%80%99t-sleep-adjust-the-temperature/

I guess some people sleep better depending on the temperature

Interesting article! Thanks! I definitely like to keep the temp in the low to mid 70s... but that's mainly because when I lived with my parents, they would ALWAYS keep the house FREEZING at night, and I'd be super pissed off about it. So now that I'm living on my own, I like to wreak revenge and keep it toasty. Hehe.

I don't think I slept any worse or better in my parents' house. But the thing I hate most about cold rooms is getting out of bed in the morning...

Odd - I just had a discussion that is pertinent to this me thinks.
I just got one of those memory foam bed pads. While it is awesome in comfort it is amazingly TOO warm. The past two days I have sweat my ass off. But that in turn helps me to have a lot of dreams and often lucid.
I believe that either cold or hot it is the actual bodies discomfort that may play a role in our minds awareness and conscious state. As a result it may easily be more provoked into a wakeful state while asleep.

Ha ha I didn't mean to scare you.
Think of it like a gargoyle. It is meant more to ward off evil spirits rather than to scare any members.
