I know exactly what you mean, it's as if there's a voice in the back of your head saying this is a dream. It's a very hard concept to grasp imo. |

When im dreaming, It seems like in every dream I have I have an opportunity to become lucid but dont take it! like, in one dream I actually said to myself " wow, I wonder what dreamviews would think about this dream. " and I didnt become lucid at all, another time I was on a boat about to go off a waterfall and was like " wait, Ive never been on a boat going down a river before, this must be a dream! " but then I woke up right when I was about to become lucid. Another time, someone came up to me and put both their hands on my shoulders and said " YOU ARE IN A DREAM. " and I didnt become lucid!!! How can I make the final push into lucidity? my dream self is being mean to me |

This is a 'problem' with dreams...it's face value with everything in the dream from thoughts to things to people we know. We recognize them as what they are but there isn't any reason behind it just know what it is but no memory of any association with it. Y? Because when we dream waking memory is disconected..not much you can do about it except hope to be lucid in a dream that so happens connects with your waking memory and ..you get lucid. You can increase the chances of connecting by taking vit B complex pills becuase it enhances memory and I've got lucids from it. I take it an hour before bed. Or you can experiment when you take and when you get your lucid because it takes time for the pill to 'connect'. It has to be like near morning when it connects. |

The best advice I have is to remember your dreams. You can then understand "dream patterns" (what's usually in your dreams) (hard to write how to say exactly what I mean). Also, LD occur most easy in later morning, once it's sunny. This is when your logic receptors, watcha call it kick in. Reality checks work too. You don't have to do them that often. Just do it when u feel like it. Like look at a clock and ask if you're dreaming then look again. It will then be second nature in your dream to check the time, then lucitity kicks in. |

If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.
Short story series about LD'ing:

It's funny because you think your "dream self" is a different person than yourself. |

If you are just starting to LD I would consider this a good thing, that would mean you are trying very hard to become aware of your dreams, and I think if you put effort into it soon you will see the benefits. |

Take this all as a good sign patrick45. It really does mean you are getting close. It is always particularly frustrating when 'dreams' themselves are somehow the topic of a dream and then you wake up and feel like a moron for missing it. It happens to even the most experienced LDer on occasion so don't fret. I once dreamed I was telling my mother she should be doing a RC. Even worse, in one dream I was complaining to someone that I hadn't become lucid last night. I've even said to a DC "wow, this is so dreamlike" and not become lucid. I've also heard music and said to a DC "This is exactly what music sounds like in my dreams" and not become lucid from it! Luckily I've learned to find these dreams amusing instead of frustrating. |

Try doing exercises for your prospective memory. YouŽll find those exercises from the "search" button. |
