Any tips from those who get many lucid dreams?

I'm trying to talk with someone who has experienced many lucid dreams. I feel as though I am very close, yet so far at the same time. I think my problem is going to bed too early (9 pm) to try and get more sleep to hopefully become lucid. However I am not tired when I go to sleep.

I think my problem for lucid dreaming is that I also accept reality far too easily. Even when dreaming about becoming lucid in my dreams, I am not aware of what I am doing until after I wake up. Talk about retarded.

Maybe I should go to bed during my normal bedtime (midnight) and awake like normal (5 am), however that doesn't give me a chance to wake up and try a WILD after 5 hours of sleep, as I am already awake.

One more thing: I wake up constantly throughout the night. Usually this is after a dream. Is this a good thing and am I on the right path towards lucidness? I wake up at least 3 times a night.

Thanks. I will lucid dream soon!

Yeah, this is exploitable. You can easily do a WBTB, or use a little autosuggestion to influence your coming dreams if you don't want to actually get out of bed.

You say that you wake up after a dream. Maybe you can try the DEILD technique. You can look for it in the tutorials section.
"The world is your playground. There are bumps along the way but this playground comes with a fully equipped toolbox with equipment out there to solve ANY disease, problem or issue out there. ONE problem. Some tools are harder to find than others. Lucid dreaming is just one of them."

I'd keep getting that extra sleep. For starters, it's healthier. On top of that, it's better for dreaming. Increasing your sleep time by 3 hours just means that you have that much higher of a chance to become lucid, and also that if you do, you might be in a longer sleep stage that'll keep you nice and lucid for a long amount of time. Not to mention, it will be easier for you to get up a little earlier to write in your dream journal, and you'll have that many more dreams to find dreams signs from.

If your awareness is the problem, just work on your awareness and method of RCing, most likely you've just gotta tweak it a little bit and you'll be good to go.

On top of that yea, attempting a DEILD after all those little awakenings is a great idea.

I'm the same most nights where I accept the dream as total reality. I mean, it's not so much accepting that's it's reality, it's more that the subconscious hasn't given your conscious mind a really obvious clue yet, but it'll come in time.

Leave the extra hours in bed until the weekend if you can and either go to bed slightly earlier or maybe combine it with getting up later, you'll get plenty of REM sleep and you might get more luck that way.

And if you're waking up several times during the night then that's a good sign too, as you'll either be able to write in your dream journal straight away or try a DEILD or WBTB with a WILD. The WILD I'd leave as a last option as most people seem to have trouble with this one ( including me as a newbie too ) and if you were to get lucid this way you may end up kicking yourself if you lose lucidity too early which would be a shame.

Best methods at the end of the day are lots of RC's during the day combined with MILD at night to have a DILD.

      Good luck!

I have been LDing for years now. For me, my first LD was a spontanuouse DILD. That is to say, I was dreaming one morning and realised it was a dream. At the time, I hadnt even heard of Lucid Dreams.

Having read the a WILD Tutorial, I realised that my sleep pattern was the key.

Everybody has different sleep patterns, different lifes and different responsibilities. At the time I would go to bed about midnight. Get up about 6:30 feed the kids and get them to school about 8:30. Job done I would drink a coffe and catch a few more zzz's. Thats when it happenned.

I dont get regular LDs anymore, probably because My new Job dictates a new sleep pattern. But, I agree with the tutorial. Sleep for 5-6 hours get up have a coffee (caffien obviousley perks you up your consciouse mind) dont worry, you should still be able to get back to sleep provided you dont engage yourself too much. Rather than trying to WILD, you are following the technique so far , but falling back to sleep naturally and hoping for a DILD.

I'm not prommissing anything, like I say, everbody lives a different lifestyle, but if you are doing your reality checks, it might work for you.
