      On belief...

I have a question on the effectiveness of belief on the occurance of lucid dreams. Do you have to fully belive beyond all doubt that you will have a lucid dream for it to be effective, or can you belive with a small amount of doubt and have it still be effective? Anyhow, I am new (Stating the obvious...) and I am very eager to attain lucidity in dreams. (Mainly because of the lack of physical restrictions posed by reality) I would appreciate it if nyone could boost my confidence on this a little, because I can scarcely belive that I can learn to have lucid dreams with frequency.

      Thank you

In september I've read "the art of dreaming" by Carlos Castaneda and learned that it's possible to attain lucidity. I tried to look for dreamsigns for about a month.
Then i almost gave up, but still tried when i remembered. Finally 2 days ago i had my first very low level lucidity dream.
I belived with doubt and it took me 3 months...

Attaining Lucidity is not a difficult task you just may find it time consuming. I see Lucid Dreaming as Uncharted waters no one can really understand it and why some people just automatically have the gift to attain it with ease, while others have to develope the skill. Here's something that could help you. Do what we call reality checks. Everytime you do something comman in your waking world for instance walking out of your front door. Say to yourself "I maybe dreaming" as a matter of fact anytime you walk out of any door say in your mind. "I maybe dreaming" and check your watch then turn away and look at it again. I say the door effect works great since 85% of dreams for some odd reason seems to start in closed areas. So if you keep this up everytime you would make a habit out of it and some of our habit forming ways always linger into our dreams because its a part of us. Oh yeah and checking your watch is your second reality check if you look at it once then turn away then look at it again and the numbers change, or the time is going backwards or anything unusual then there you have it and Welcome to the World Of Lucid Dreaming.

No, not beyond a shadow of a doubt. Many people have had LDs that have never even heard of them before.
