I've known about lucid dreaming for around four years or so. However, I am not near as far as I feel I should be with my lucid dreaming goals. I suppose it has to do with a lack of patience and motivation. Hopefully I can rebuild myself and get back on track after quite a long "break".

In the past, when I was somewhat successful in my goals of attempting to obtain lucidity, I had good recall. Right now my dream recall is horrible. I used to be at the point where I could remember 2 or more dreams a night. Now, I hardly remember my dreams at all.

So, aside from gaining patience, motivation, and confidence, I think a major thing and the first step I need to work on is improving my dream recall.

My methods for actually obtaining lucid dreams were quite simple, though perhaps not quite as effective as another method would be. I wrote about my dreams in detail. When it was bed time I would sometimes look over my dream and/or read a bit about lucid dreaming on the net or in my book "Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life" by Stephen LaBerge.

The few times I actually had a lucid dream, two things ALWAYS happened: I woke up in a bed, and I did a reality check by poking the palm of my hand (I would know it was a dream if my hand was tingly or my finger when through it).

Perhaps I could use these two things in my future attempts, but I don't know how. Any ideas?

Aside from that, any ideas on methods or anything else would be greatly appreciated.
I need some help!
