Weird way I got a lucid dream?

Ok, so Iv'e been trying to lucid dream for about a month now without any success, however yesterday i went over to my friends house for a sleepover. We tried going to sleep around 3, and It was extremely hot and we didnt have air conditioning or a fan. That night I had 3 lucid dreams. I dont understand why they all happened then at this house and not my own?

I may know why. You were uncomfortable. You kept your mind awake, but dosy asleep. Also there may be another explanation. Your subconcious sometimes thinks (Bed = sleep, deep) You may of tricked it into thinking it wasn't time to sleep? But your body did? Weird I know, but those are 2 most likely explanations.

I normally have dreams at sleepovers too, and I assumed also due to GameChefs reasons. I normally text them to myself so I dont forget! xD (I don't bring my dream journal to my friends houses)

No one will be able to give you a true answer to this question. People like to say that sleeping in unusual locations provides your mind with an extra bit of awareness that is needed to lucid dream. Some people think it'll be screwing around with your sleep schedule like that that causes the LDs. What do I think? I think that you're much more likely to lucid dream when you've already had one in one night Likely, you had the additional two because you'd already managed the first one. Whether it was DEILD, or just that awareness or memory of the first lucid that let you have the other two (if they were DILDs). No one will know for sure why you had the first, but I believe that that is why you had the other two. Can you give us more details about the dreams? WILDs, or DILDs? Did you see a dreamsign, or just spontaneously become lucid? Did you attempt to LD?

I like Shift's explanation. It seems the most probable. Regarding GameChef's theory, I considered that as well. I notice that I have better awareness in dreams when I'm not at home in my own bed, because my bed typically means getting down to business (meaning "okay, time for some good sleep.....got an early day tomorrow") type of thing. But I think Shift's is about right! It's one of those things we'll never know for sure.

I also like this part of Shift's explanation. If you are being more aware and critical of your surroundings while going to sleep, this will likely translate into your dream mentality. Why not? If not in your own bed, most people will feel more nervous and less comfortable. Maybe even a tad scared, (instinctual I would assume, bedding down somewhere unfamiliar.) Shift's right of course, answers are different to everyone.
