I'm the kind of lucid dreamer that has been trying for a while with little results- the RC's I did never happened in my dreams.
I just started to try to do it differently and it has begun to work so I thought it might help others who have the same problem.

1)You've just remembered to do a reality check. Key thought/feeling: you might be 3 seconds away from being in a really cool lucid dream. "Wow, everything looks really detailed". What you are looking at might be the dream world that you can control. You could be 3 second away from growing wings or blasting fireballs.

Hopefully you feel excited that you are so close

2) Do your usual (for me it's counting my fingers). If it is normal then state "I am not dreaming" or something similar. Sometimes practice: if I was in a dream I would say "I am dreaming" and try to stabilize.


I never got any lucid dreams for around 7 months and now I do reality checks in my dreams (the ones I remember) about once every 3 days
