Today's task: Become aware every time you see or think of SMOKE DETECTORS/SPRINKLERS!!! Reality check first and foremost.
Make an effort to become very aware of your surroundings. Do at least three reality checks.
Imagine you have just become lucid, and make sure to 'stabilize'.

Good luck everyone. Remember to visualize ahead of time!

Hey Shift, I think this thread is a very good idea. I've been using it for about a week now to help me get back into the habit of doing regular RCs. It must be working because last night i had my first LD in two years!

      Many thanks!

I always get too caught up in the day to remember to reality check. My whole life could be a dream!

I think I'm beginning to see a trend in some of my dreams though. If certain things show up in my dreams (science fiction, family, distortion of my house, sex, and drugs) I may be able to cue in on these things. Also a very strange occurence has happened in three of my recorded dreams so far: I find I am in a theatre about to start a movie, but when the movie starts I shift into the movie, experiencing it from the inside as either an anonymous viewpoint unnoticed by the characters of the movie, or as a character in the movie, or myself.
have you ever been so close to a dream that once you step upon the doorstep and start knocking at what might be there, no answer? twisting the doorknob does not help nor doe clenching fist upon the dependent solidity of barriers.
there is a silent sorrow to the...

Hah... Every time I end up knowing of something I have to reality check from if I think about, it stays in my train of thought all day and I don't end up RCing - Because if I did, I'd be doing it so often I wouldn't get anything done .

thank you Shift, your threads about daily dreamsigns inspired me to do something like that.
I know I need training on prospective memory, I found it's such an excellent excersise for daily life and dreaming. This is what I do myself:
before, I tried to be aware of my senses and of my environment 100% of the time, but it was boring, even if I was only for a couple of minutes, it was very "soldier-like".

So I decided to go more soft...and start doing something that it works pretty well, and it's very useful, training my prospective memory,
for 20 days I'm going to work on it, to get a lot better, and to get confidence, so when I'm ready, I will just say, before going to sleep, in a WBTB I suppose..."when I see something weird..."(or something like that) I will become aware. Like MILD.

I found it's a lot better that just being aware....now, it's more fun, now I'm really enjoying, and pay attention to this, I'm really enjoying the path to lucid dreams.
For the first time, I like and I enjoy what I'm doing.
today is the second day of the practice.
Every day, I see my objectives (water-floor-trees-walking) and everytime I find I'm doing one of those, I become aware of my senses, and of my current state of being, I become aware of what's around me.
From day 1 to 3, there are 3 objetives in each day.
up to day 4, four objetives.
up to day 9, five objetives.
up to day 14, six objetives.
and day 19, and 20, seven objetives.
As I got further, objetives are less specific (walking, being quiet, being in fantasy world).
The first days there are specific objetives like eating, looking birds.
This is making me understand that lucidity is very easy to attain, now that I found what's good for me.
My awareness is more soft and enjoyable now, is not an "be aware 100% of the time" like a soldier, but a little part of me knowing all the time that I could be in a dream, so, awareness is slowly increasing, more and more, but always being pleasurable....I think that with a perfect prospective memory (laberge recommended practicing if for a week, I went further by practicing it for 20 days) should be easy to become lucid by MILD, you just say, "oh, I'm going to dream in a few minutes, I will become aware because...."

      that's it.

      Thank you again, Shift.
