      My first Lucid Dream

      Hey all.

I have been trying to WILD as i said on this thread made by me http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=80990 but i didnt manage to succeed.

Last night i tried it again, but i failed and got asleep. During my sleep i had a dream (won't detail it as i dont find it interesting). At a point on the dream a woman gave me a flyer with some information. I read it and started to run to meet some friends. Then i tought "Maybe im just dreaming" and did the text reading reality check by looking to the flyer again. Surprise!!! It had some strange symbols in it and i couldn't read it anymore so i knew i was dreaming.

As i had become lucid i tried to stabilize the dream so i didnt wake up suddenly. From what i had read on the forum i could do it by spinning, which i tried. What happened was that as i was spinning around myself the dream started fading and getting dark until it was totally dark. I knew i was still asleep but my dream scene had disappeared!!! Then i tried to visualize a lake with a duck in it. I managed to make it appear but, then, i had a false awakening to my bed. I went to bathroom in this new dream and then got awake in reality. Was so damn frustating, lol.

I want to know what i did wrong.
-How can i stabilize correctly the dream?
-I didn't have any success in my attempts to WILD. Should i give up and start practising Reality Checks and try to DILD like i did this night by pure chance? In this case reality checks were really handy.
-Was this amount of dream control good? As i managed for a seconds to make a new dream scene appear but then i lost it all again.

Hope you can help me as this lucidity i had was nice and i really want to do it again.

To stabilize the dream i like to bend over on one knee and pick up a rock or feel the ground and stuff's texture for a second or 2 then your good to go. although as you go through the dream remember to stabilize again sometime.

Heres the thing, you have to be asleep to DILD, while you can be awake to WILD. so i suggest do both. failing at a WILD provides a higher chance of DILD in my experience.

Your dream control was fine as far as i can see so far, as you go on you might find your rather good at it, or your horrible like me.

Even though im not good with WILD (yet), heres how i got it to work last night and how iv almost got it to work before. all i had to do was work some kinks out.

i woke up around 4 am on a brief awaking, (6-7 hours after going to sleep. its different for everyone) went to take a leak and drank some water/ overall taking around 5 mins or so. then i layed back down and TRIED to fall asleep every once and awhile thinking about lucid dreaming but mainly just falling asleep like normal. then when i was really sleepy i started to dip in and out of my subconscious bringing back pictures in my mind. after a little bit i was staring at a image in my mind (this is where i usually get and have been trying to figure out for awhile now what to do)

Now instead of getting excited or anything i just layed there kinda keeping aware that im still looking at a image.
then the image started to pan left and i just plopped into a dream.

Heres some good reads id recommend that have helped me

-Different things work for different people, try rubbing your hands or an object in the dream, works for me.
-You could do both at the same time i guess.
-I don't know its better than mine lol

      Thanks for your advise.

I read the tutorials. Ill try to put to use what i learned this next night, hope i can do it again. Didnt Lucid Dream for a lot of time, since i was a kid, lol. But i finally managed to do it (altough it was really a small lucid dream) and i really want to do it again.

Ill practise Reality Checking (ill have to try to remember to RC when i awake to avoid false awakenings, the one i had this night got on my nerves, lol) and continue writing in the dream journal i have done. Ill try to combine both technics of WILD and DILD and hope one of em works.

Might try to feel the texture's of the ground or objects or rub the hands as u guys said. Spinning was the first thing that got to my mind at the moment, lol. A shame it didn't work.

If i progress ill say something xD.
