Thread: is lucid dreaming even real?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's real.

Otherwise there wouldn't be plenty scientific books on the subjects, and loads of experienced lucid dreamers.

We have hundreds of dream journals in the designated section, take a look if you need inspiration.

People have tried for longer than a month (one example is four years), and yet they still know it's real. I've was at it for months, then school started, stopped for a bit, but now am at it again. It's real, like the person above me said- science and experience have proved it.

where did everybody go to learn how to lucid dream anyway? i saw a how to video on youtube by howcast

you can learn it by yourself.... you don't have to take classes, pay money, or anything. it is FOR FREE!

I learned just by practice, and talking to people here on the site...

Look at it this way,
If you'd been learning to speak french for a month, would you expect to be a fluent speaker by now? Of course not.
How good would you be?
Well that depends on how much time each day you are putting into learning, but whatever the case you'd certainly only have the most basic level of understanding.

You're learning about yourself here, your psychological quirks, your sleep cycle, your memory etc. You're learning to speak the language of your own mind.
People can only teach you so much, techniques that work for some do not always work for others. It's going to be a bit of trial and error.

In my experience Wake Back to Bed, is a good foundation to start with.
You can then mix that basic principle with other methods and ideas, until you find a combination that works well for you.

Of course, once you start getting aware in your dreams, you'll then have to learn how your psychology works in order to get the most out of them.

It's a lifelong journey and therin lays the beauty of it. It dosn't get old, because as you grow and change, your dreams grow and change.

You're at the tricky bit, you're in the "learning to drive" stage...
the fun really starts when you have the basic skills sorted, and you can "drive"... then it's just down to you to choose where to go and how fast to drive.

Trust me if you put effort into it during the day, it WILL pay off at night.

I agree with spaceexplorer. It took me years (with little to no results) to learn to lucid dream, and I did that by getting really into it and reading as much as possible... by joining Dreamviews! You're in the exact same position I was only about 16 months ago, and I've had over 100 lucid dreams. It is very real, and very possible- you just have to figure out what you personally have to do to have success- I think it's a little bit different for everybody. Yes, it is possible, and yes it is a bit of hardwork, but it's very worth it and very real.

In the beggining everyone thinks that after reading articles will be able to dream lucid...

Man you need to train yourself...i had to try 7 months to have LD's...And more than 1 yea to have WILD's....

I Seem To Be A Little Different I Had Lds [a Few] Before I Ever Heard Of Lds Or Even Of This Site. The Only Reason Im Here Is Because I Have Had Lds On My Own [naturally] And I Just Googled Control Of Dreams Or Controllong Your Dreams And I Am Here. I Want To Have More If Possible Because They Are The Best. No Limits In There. Nothing Like Knowing You Are Dreaming And Doing All The Crazy Stuff You Cant Do In Real Life! Just Want To Know How To Do It More. If It Werent Real I Wouldent Have Sought Out This Site.

The notion of lucid dreaming is simply an elaborate illusion created for the sole purpose of fooling you into believing that there exists yet another consciousness outside of your own to be experienced by other conscious entities.

However, since you already know that you are the only being who exists and nothing can be known or accurately conceived independent of your own mind, upon coming across dreamviews.com, you confidently conclude that the idea of lucid dreaming is all a hoax or a sophisticated scheme implemented to sway you from your initial belief system. You quickly discredit this fancy deception because you know that since only you exist, you cannot be wrong in believing that only you exist because there is no other principle way in existence to prove otherwise, and you therefore must be correct in your thinking.

The next logical step would be to question the existence of this so-called lucid dreaming, even though you know your actions will probably prove futile since your solipsistic worldview is invariably true to reality.

Took me 6 months of DJing and RCing and waking up in the middle of the night for no good reason to have my first Just keep at it and think about how cool it will be once you can do it.
