      sleep paralysis failure?/help

Today I started entering sleep paralysis. I thought I saw my mom walk into my room and then walk around my bed and came to hand me something, so I was thinking "wtf are you doing in here" and I broke out of the paralysis or just woke up, and she wasn't even there. That experience reminded me about WILDs so I tried that next. I felt my body vibrating and I thought to myself "ALRIGHT I CAN TAKE THIS!" and then I stopped vibrating and woke up again.

The next time I attempted it that morning (I drank a bit the night before so thats why I kept waking up) I entered paralysis/a dream state and it felt like my body was being controlled and I crawled out of my bed, and then started flying around in circles around my bedroom floor. It was pretty strange but I went with it and tried to enter an LD again. Well I ended up hitting something under my bed and my body stopped vibrating and then I awoke and I was actually still in my bed.

WHAT GIVES? How to I turn the paralysis into an LD instead of just waking up? I didn't even go to a normal dream...

Have you tried visualizing while in SP?

Whenever I am in SP I try to visualize myself running (Using all five senses) and with luck I enter a dream where I am running
Best thing to do in SP is not to try and move. This because you will end up moving your real body and wake yourself up.

My body often times flies, slides, and spins around the room during the transition to the dream. All I do is calmly wait for my body to stop sliding/spinning/flying on its own and then I attempt to just stand up and open my dream eyes. Works well for me. Just remain calm next time and allow your body to enter the dream on its own.

I have a question about this. I think a little bit ago I was either in SP or on the boundary of SP. So I was laying down for about 20-25 minutes, and I get this sorta drifting sensation which led to another sensation of kinda sinking in my bed. At first I was like whatever, I'll just let it come on its own like everybody says to so I don't mess it up. However, since I've never experienced SP before, I realize this is what I've been waiting for the past month and my heart starts beating frantically. Then the feeling faded and when I tried to move my hand, I could, and it was very stiff like I had been asleep for hours.

mrdeano - you say not to try to move because you will move your body but how is that possible because I thought you were literally paralyzed in SP. If so then was I in SP when I moved my hand but because I moved my hand I broke SP?

Also, can you get too exited and snap out of SP?

P.S. I know this is sorta the same question as the OP but that's why I didn't start another thread.

It sounds like you were dreaming in both cases. Dreams where you 'wake up' in your bed can be really tricky some times. So I think you are on the right track, you are getting results. Its just an issue of going a little deeper so you do not wake up so quickly.

You are paralyzed in SP, but you can break it. You can move and break SP, but it isn't easy. It usually takes about 4 or 5 trys

Being too excited can snap you out of SP and it can snap you out of a dream as well. When your heart starts beating fast, just take your deep breathes and try to remain as calm as possible. It just takes practice. After you have a had more experience with SP, it will get easier. Good Luck!

See thats what I was wondering because the first time I tried to move I succeeded. Is it possible I wasn't fully in SP even though I felt the drifting/sinking sensations? How will I know if I'm in SP?
