I think I have found a new LD method. A good one.

Hehe, so... I came home from school yesterday, knowing I had a crapload of homework. I slept from around 3:30PM to 5:30PM. Got up, ate, worked on homework till 2AM, on which i took a break, popped a Centrum, a complex B vitamin, and a St. John's Wort. Then I brewed some mint tea. I went to sleep at 3AM, having to get up at 6AM.

Now, I had not expected to have a very good dream recall. I did not LD, but I was damn close to it and the dreams were DEEP. In other words, no way of wakin up by accident (some of the more experianced LDers know what that is like). Very interesting, that half of the time I was asking myself, "Is this a dream?". It never registered, but got damn close, as I had almost full awareness (one point I felt like I was dying before I slid into another level.) I think there were like 4-5 levels to it, which makes it hard to recall because at that point the realism became so much that when I slipped out of a "dream" and into another level, I would accept it as reality.

I do not know.. but It appears that sleeping those 2 hours got the delta sleep outta me, then going to sleep over 9 hours later just mainly did REM sleep. I woke up completley refreshed and not feeling my usually drowsy morning self (which also leads me to believe there was no delta, and I only hit rem, cause when i took the nap when i came home.. i was outta it).

It could have also been the St. John's Wort and the Mint Tea (i just started puttin the two together the past 2 days because it makes me feel more aware during the day). The B6 in the two mulivitamins I am sure helped contribute (it was only like 20mg combined, but still that can make a difference).

Yeah, I've noticed a similar effect. When I nap in the afternoon for 3 hours, I have noticeably better dreams and dream recall. Almost all of my LDs have occurred on days when I've napped in the afternoon.

It seems to be related to WBTB, but WBTB doesn't appear to work for me, and this does.

Well I am not dependent. Another thing, the Centrum only provides 100% dv of most vitamins.. the complex provides more, but still well under the amount of most supplements. St. John's Wort was just something i figured might help, I can already say mint tea helps awareness.. i've yet to decide on the former however. Seems promising though (i mean 1st night?)

      Nice man
Usually napping in the afternoons shouldnt give you delta sleep though

I'm more interested that you tried the st johns wort, B6, mint tea and likely zinc+magnesium, etc , with some possible success with dreams
Dunno if you've been reading my last bunch of posts about it, but in theory, they all seem linked to each other, and anti-aging ideas.

      Those and these:
      - Broad beans (how natural can you get ) .. this one is for human growth hormone stimulation however
      - Heavy exercise - like weight training (For the ladies, doing a good jog does it just fine. Guys seem less lucky )
      - Amino acids = L-arginine, L-ornithine, and L-lysine, L-glutamine, glycine

Of course, I'm not saying what one should or shouldn't take, and as always, take responsibility for your own actions and research the stuff thoroughly first. I'm just mentioning this for those who are interested

So far, I'm taking the same stuff you are, except the mint tea (without that much success. perhaps a bit better dream recall)
I have to get my hands on some mint tea
Trouble is that I hate the bloody stuff

The mint tea i got is strong.. peppermint and spearmint are in it.. but its very strong (and very effective). I think i did hit delta sleep.. 2 hours is plenty of time to do that.

      wbtb method

Stephen Laberge and many dreamers say for wbtb method is to sleep about 5 hours , and get out of bed for 60 minutes and then go back to bed. For me this method does not work at all. Once I am awake beyond ten minutes, it becomes impossible for me to fall back to sleep. What works well for me is that after 5 hours of sleep, to get up for 5 to 8 minutes and then go back to sleep. Generally 5 minutes does the trick.

I have that same problem! If I get up for more than about 10 minutes I cant get to sleep for the life of me. So you say only stay up for about 5 minutes eh? Ill give it a try.

Also my school sells the best mint tea which is perfect to drink as im doing my late night homework. It really does help dream recall!

It depends on the person... for me its about 15 mins I believe
The longer the better - provided you still get back to sleep
