So is there no way to induce a DILD? Or do you just go to sleep hoping you'll "awake" inside of a dream?
WILD is considered the only real way to achieve lucidity at will.

This is not to say that there aren't some very skilled DILDers out there who are capable of having lucid dreams seemingly on command. But there is some degree of luck involved with attempting DILD, as you are subject to a lot of variables and unknowns when you surrender yourself to the realm of unconscious dreaming.

I suppose you can only ever hope to become lucid when attempting DILD, but it is not all luck in the same sense as a coin flip. There are plenty of ways to tilt the odds in your favor, and the more experienced DILD practitioners will utilize a variety of techniques (often in combination) to allow themselves the best opportunity.
      While sleeping, watch.
