There are varies methods and techniques out there that allow anyone to memories large lists of items and figures without much effort.
The most famous two would be the loci system and the peg.

I only just discovered these techniques myself and I have already put them to use. I have memorized every Shakespeare play in the order they was written =]
I am thinking about going bigger this time and memorizing all the elements and their position on the chart.
