      Writing it down= + effectivness

You know the whole "Writing down your goals" thing? Well I don't use that for alot of things, but a few weeks ago, I thought instead of just repeating "I will have a Lucid Dream and I will remember it" I'd write it down.
I wrote an email to Dr. Neil Slade, he's an expert on the human brain and the frontal lobes and brain self-control.
I asked him if you were to write something down, like a goal, would it set your mind to do it. And he said yes it would.
So I tried it, my results were VERY good, I had 1 big LD and 2 small ones in a week and 2 days.
So instead of just repeating the phrase in your head, write it on a peice of paper "I will have a Lucid Dream and I will remember it"
Even if it dosn't work the first time, do it every night, your brain will start picking it up more and more and start recognizing it and remembering it. Try other things as well "I will wake up after every dream period" "I will completly recall my dream", things like that.
Try it for a couple of weeks and tell me your results, and then keep doing it.

This sounds very interesting. I will definently have to try it out myself. I suppose writing something down would be more effective than just blathering it out over and over.

it varies for different people, like some people are visual learners while others are auditory learners or kinesthetic learners. this could also apply to lucid dreaming, so if you are a kinesthetic learner, writing it down may be more effective then just saying it or visualizing it.

well, im a kinisthetic learner so i guess ill have to try it. how many times do u think you would have to write it for it to work? Do u think typing would work the same as writing?

Just once, and I think writing would be more effective then typing.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be better if you were doing this while in a semi trance? I mean, they, your mind is more open to taking orders. I don't know, I'll try both.

Hey actually, I found a way to make it even more effective.

When you wake up in the morning, write it down "I will have a Lucid Dream tonight and I will remember it"
Then at night, before you go to sleep, write it down again.

It works ALOT better, because you tell your mind to do it in the morning where your brain is more open and un-constrained, and then you remind it and tell it again at night, making it more effective.

Do you think this would be a good experiment for the Research Forum? It wouldn't be troublesome to write up a little study because this sounds effective. I've never heard the word kinisthetic and that sounds like me. I've always thought of it as visual learning, but apparently not since I usually learn better when I write down something repeatedly. Thanks for the idea!

this really works - i tried it last night and successfully, if only briefly attained lucidity in my dream, and can also recall three seperate dreams slightly better than normal.

I have been trying this for about 8 days now, I dont see any improvement in my recall, and since I never went lucid "yet" none of that either, I'll keep trying this though it always help to jog the subconcious a bit more... I think
      Am I Dreaming ?
