Trouble with WILD v. Sleep Paralysis

I have had probably 7 or 8 LD to date, and my most recent LD had been induced by the WILD technique.

The experience leading up to the LD was very intense. For one, it sounded like someone was unzipping my backpack or my duffel bag that I have in my room (which was kind of creepy) and then I felt by bed moving, as if someone was walking on my bed Then it felt like someone kept pushing down on my stomach. It got so intense that I managed to clench my fist, and when I did, I felt someones hand in mine. So nevertheless, it was a creepy experience.

The time before that, about a month ago, it felt as if someone was tugging on my blanket and then it seemed as if someone began to shake me, violently.

So last night I could have induced a WILD, but at the moment I felt myself slipping into paralysis (felt like someone was tugging my blanket) I immediately rolled over because it freaked me out. And the time before that (which was a week ago) I felt someone walking on my bed

What are some tips to overcome the fear of sleep paralysis? It's been giving me the creeps and preventing me from inducing a WILD

You will eventually get used to the hallucinations.

I think before going to bed, you should mentally prepare for them.

      Repeat to yourself:

"These are only hallucinations, they can't hurt me".

As soon as the hallucinations begin, keep thinking the above sentence over and over.

      Good luck.

      Good luck.
Affirmations like this work for me. But I think it is much more helpful to state the affirmation positively. Instead of "they can't hurt me" try saying "I am safe and protected".

Feels better doesn't it? A general guideline: keep affirmations positive, and say what you want, not what you don't want.

Traditionally people either imagine they are in a circle of white light or they actually trace a circle while visualizing it made of white light around them. I use a bubble of white light.

I remember the first time I experienced what you are talking about. I became aware that there was someone behind me chanting. I didn't know about SP then. I made myself get up and then I thought i was crazy.

Oddly, I've never had anything like this. The few times I entered SP in a way that you actually saw it, it was a blasting vortex of colors swirling around, and you are right in the middle of it falling downwards.

      Guess its different for everybody.

      "I feel my heart glow
with enthusiasm which elevates me to heaven; for nothing contributes so much to tranquillise the mind as a steady purpose--a point
on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye."

Ah, thank you! I used your affirmations and pictured a white light around me, and said I had one around me too. And as the SP came along, I just kept saying it over and over And I slipped into a LD shortly after.

And just in case you're curious as to what happened in my SP—I first heard some weird noise in my room, and my heart immediately started racing. Then I felt someone grab me and start turning me in different directions on my bed. Weird!

I wish I could open my eyes and see something like that, but I always have the creepiest sensations, so I keep my eyes closed because I fear whatever may be there

This sounds really really creepy. Sounds like someone is in your room? Grabbing you and shaking you? Creeeeeepppy. I would be scared out of my mind, but I am still interesting in trying a WILD though.
