Can't seem to get Lucid anymore

      Hey guys,

I can't seem to get lucid anymore, and it's starting to get a little frustrating. Granted I have taken a "break" from lucid dreaming for more than 5+ years, so I suppose its not an over-night thing. Still bugs me since I used to get them all the time it seems, and now I can barly get any recall on regular dreams (and if I do, its very brief seconds without much detail)

things I have tries thus far...

      - Daily "reality" checks including looking at my hands, and asking myself if i'm dreaming. I do this more than a dozen times a day

      - Look at a clock, look away, look back and see if its been changed unrealistically

      - Write EVERYthing in a dream text file, even if its as simple as "I attempted to become lucid last night, and unfortunatly I did not. I do not even seem to recall any dreams at all"

      - I take a few minutes while lying in bed before trying to fall asleep to look at my hands, tell myself I will dream and become lucid tonight. I also take this time to stare at my clock a bit.

That seems to be everything i've done so far. I just can't even seem to recall much dreams at all - seconds here and there...but nothing lengthly...and definitly not even on a level 0 of the lucid layers. It's more of a "memory" of something, but not interactive at all.

I plan on buying some Galantamine tomorow if I can find some locally here at a health and supplement store - if not i'll make an online order. I plan on drinking some apple juice and eating peanut butter before bed tonight as well.

Anyone have any other suggestions for me?

      Thanks,

      Doc

Recall problems, huh? Are you getting enough sleep?

If so then writing out should have helped... even if you're left with just a feeling write down what it was like. Then try dwelling on the feeling for a while, see if it stirs up some memories. If you can "feel" some memories yet can't recall them then don't give up right away.

Also perhaps you could try the dream recall subliminal: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...76&postcount=1

I am 40 and found that even with keeping a detailed dream journal I would still have "dry spots" - these would last 4 or 5 days and were frustrating.

I found a big help in supplements. On the supplements board I learnt about the importantce of some of the B vitamins - so I now take a bunch of those before bed. I also found through experimenting that taking a couple of L-Acetly L-Tyrosine's before bed always breaks a dry spell. I also use DMAE - a couple of these before bed I am sure has improved my recall.

Another tip is to drink alot of water before bed - When you naturally wake at the end of a REM cycle you will need to go to the bathroom - a good oppotunity to record your dreams.

Finally - I bought one of those REM Dreamer devices. Not a cheap option but I have found it to be worth the investment. It uses infra-red sensors to look for REM sleep and can then trigger lights and sound cues. It also has a dream alarm feature that wakes you during REM so you can record your dream and use DEILD methods to get lucid.
