Twitching as if Entering LD and then..no?!?

      Hey,

I've become lucid about 10+ times by WILDing after 4-7 hours of sleep. However, whenever I do this, I end up spending way too long in bed and missing out on too much of the day.

I know it's very near impossible to WILD when going to bed at night, but I've been trying anyways. I will turn on a lucid mp3, not that the actual mp3 makes me go lucid, but I have several tracks looped that about once every hour, it goes to one that says "You are dreaming" blah blah, and the guys voice wakes me up and helps me go in and out of consciousness.

I've gotten to the point where, I will fall in and out of consciousness, my body is numb everywhere (Not quite SP yet), and I cannot even feel some limbs as if they are floating in air.

During these moments of going in and out of consciousness, I will feel my body being tugged in random directions, or that "wave" feeling you get when being sucked into a dream while WILDing.

I will feel my body move, and think to myself, "Here we go, I'll finally accomplish a WILD at night."

Then suddenly the feeling will fade and I'm back to where I was. Most times I ruin this situation as I will regain consciousness and realize how dry my throat is and swallow involuntarily.

I will also have lots of random involuntary body twitches.

Anyone experience this, or have any advice on how to progress? I have yet to achieve SP like this. As a matter of fact, in the 9 or 10 LD's that I've had, I've yet to SP. I've only had SP once when I woke up from a nap completely paralyzed and saw the old hag sneaking up behind me.

I havent achieved a full on lucid dream yet, but like you i also try to wild when i go to sleep anyway even though like you say, it seems to be near impossible, but i dont believe that. I believe it just takes a dedicated mind. I have only tried this a few times and i am making more and more progress every time. I think the reason it is said to be so hard to enter a dream when you first go to sleep, is because your supposed to have a certain amount of hours for your body to reach REM sleep. Last night i felt like i skipped that process entirely. I am not reccomending using marijuanna, but i did use before i went to sleep. It personally helps me to relax when i lay down and usually results in some pretty good sleep. This is me though.

I also experienced the sudden twitches, and had the same thoughts that "ok cool its bout to happen" but that thinkig is wrong. You should not think about that or what your body is feeling like or if you have entered SP. My key is to think first about actually trying to sleep, while every so often tell yourself and repeat frequently that you will dream, that you know you will be dreaming. This is easy to misunderstand however, because when i say i focus on my breathing i dont focus on how im breathing i focus on the sound and feeling of my breathing. Also doing the obvious of keeping my body still, sure it may get uncomfortable and get those annoying itches but the point is to make yourself not notice them. When you start thinking bout them just switch back to your breathing and mantra.

When i feel as though i am really drifting away, at the point where it feels as though you dont even have a body, that you are just floating or flying, this is what i believe to be the part that happens immediately before our dream begins. This is the part where i failed. I was imagining myself laying in my be and i thought that i had woke up in my dream bed and i did reality checks and things but i was actually really awake lol. It felt like i was so close that i even mistook reality as a dream.

I am going to try this again tonight, along with the CANWILD, and if that doesnt work even the WBTB all in one night. I am determined to master this, and so should you. this is far too interesting and amazing to not be dedicated to.

When I do this, I let myself dose off and in every hour or so I wake up due to the mp3 playing. I know I've achieved REM because when I wake, I recall fragments or even entire dreams or scenarios that was taken place before I woke.

It is the exact same feeling I get when I do the wake back to bed WILDs that have achieved me a handful of full on Lucid dreams.

It seems like I am so close, just a small step away from actually entering a dream. I feel like I am just about to step into the dream, and then suddenly I am completely awake.

I experience the involuntary muscle spasms whenever I attempt a WILD. The twitches and the strange feeling I get in my body normally come around the same time. I've never successfully performed a WILD before and that's the farthest I've gotten.
So yeah, I've experienced this too. I've never gotten to SP before but what you just described sounds like what happens to me any time I try to get my WILD on.

Have these experiences exactly the same. The part where you suddenly realise that you're awake again after that "wave" (or like mental lapse I think) was used in a guide I read that used this point to start trying to focus on tactile sensations (like I usually feel that I'm on a water bed) to get into a lucid dream.

Interesting, I've been trying to do the same. I usually imagine a scenario, and focus on the sensations of anything nearby. Such as holding and swinging a bat, feel of my cellphone in my hand, water bottle, etc.
