      Sleep Patterns

Currently I am working on improving my dream recall. I am a student in high school, so during the weekdays I have to wake up around 6:30 for school. During the weekend, I usually sleep in until 9:30 or 10:00. Most of the dreams I remember occur during the early morning hours of the weekend. I am having problems remembering dreams during the week. Should I start waking up at 6:30 on the weekends to establish a constant sleep pattern? I am thinking maybe if I do this I will start remembering dreams from earlier in the night.

      Hello & Welcome Liger88

That is a fairly regular sleep pattern as far as sleep patterns go.
Do you recall any dreams during the middle of the night? those of which you could start writing down. Maybe then you would get rewarded with better dream recall during the week.
      School is probalby taxing enough.

I have about the same sleep pattern as you, and my dream recall is pretty good, so I'll offer some advice. If you don't already, start keeping a dream journal. Whenever you wake up (morning or during the night), write down any dreams you can remember, or even pieces, or single details. Anything. If you don't have time to do it in the morning before school, at least try to do it during the night, and in the morning, narrate your dreams in your head, as if you were going to write them down. Also, when you're going to sleep, focus on dreaming. If you're having particular trouble with recall, focus on that. I find that the more distracted I am before going to sleep, the worse my recall is. Lastly, get enough sleep. The best time to remember dreams in between 6 and 8 hours of sleep. If you're getting less, you're in shorter, less intense REM periods.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

Thanks for the tips. I am already keeping a dream journal. This morning I woke up at 6:30 and remembered three dreams. I think I am starting to get the hang of it.
