No vision when attaining more licidity

Last night I had my 1st MILD. Ik went to sleep on my back (which I usually don't) and awaked because of the snoring sound I made. I recalled the dream I was in and felt asleep again after a short period. I entered the same dream which I had left a few moments before, but now I realized that this scene was the the one I had just dreamt of. I was standing with a girlfriend (who I do not know in daily life) near a lake and as soon as I knew that I was dreaming, I shouted "more lucidity". From that moment on the situation changed, the appearance of my girlfriend changed and the total scene faded. It felt like I had closed my eyes.... so I wanted to open them, even though I realized that it may end my dream, but I took the chance.... But I was right, the opening of my eyes also occured physical, so I woke up

Can anyone tell me what to do in such a situation? Should I have waited longer?

      Thanks!

Well, in a situation like that I suppose it's quite likely that you're already awake, and so can't really get that dream back. I think that if you try keeping your eyes closed, and imagining yourself back in a scene, probably the one you were in will work best, then you might fall back into the dream still lucid. It might not work, but it's worth a try.
